Cheap 3G emergency phone (Three) - does not need Internet.

Hi there,

I just need a cheap mobile to make/receive calls and texts as mine is in for repair.

I have a cheap Nokia, but it does not pick up a signal (I guess it's 2G only).

Thanks Mark.

Just wondering which one supports 3G for £20 as I've checked all the cheapest ones on the CPWH site and the cheapest one that says it supports 3G is a £39.99 Acatel one (I was hoping for one less than £25 as it's only a couple of days before I get my phone back and have setup WhatsApp on my works Note for the meantime so not that desperate)?

Cheers, Mark.

Huweai y330 is quite cheap.

There don't seem to be many 3g non smart phones made any more. Nokia 301 is 3g if you can find one.

Not too bad a price, but was hoping for more like £25 as will only be using it for a couple of days and I'm still not totally without a phone as have everything on my works phone apart from some people not knowing the number (but have let the most important people know and put my SIM in it a couple of times a day).

Think I may give it a miss as did not want to shell out £40 for a phone that I will prob not use again for sometime (as I should hopefully have my phone back by the weekend).

Thanks for all the replies, but even the cheap badic 3G phones still seem a fair bit.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more basic 3g phones. Here is another example, but it is outside your budget

Fianl bit of advice from me- CEX. Normally I wouldn't recommend them, but they do seem to have the HTC Wildfire for£20-£25 pounds in some stores. Might be worth a look if your local one has anything going cheap.

Bought one of these in Asda a few weeks ago as a simple backup phone.

Was £20 in Asda but noticed its £15 now in Voda shop but Asda has no need to buy a top up and I’m not sure about Voda shop but it is 3G and an unlock code will cost £2-99p on EBay.

The 2nd hand shops are a good idea thanks and also that one in Asda/Vodafone looks a good one.

Cheers Mark.
