I think that was Squares problems. Its more a case of "Its only Tomb Raider" these days rather than "It's Tomb Raider!!! for crying out loud".

The reboot sold well, but Square were expecting the reboot the be the biggest selling TR game by a long way and frankly they were rebooting a franchise which had kinda died off.

I say this as a fan of the reboot and the franchise.

Put this through its paces last night and it's really good, seems to be more opportunity to explore areas (some of which are quite large) more than in the reboot, doesn't seem to be as much shooting either.

Actual tomb raiding is improved, nothing like on the scale of the original games but an improvement over the last installment.

All in all a really good second effort, shame it's falling on its ass sales wise, kind of annoying to me that shit like cod thrives on ZERO innovation and games that genuinely improve get left on the shelf.

This will keep me busy until Just Cause 3, another epic title!

A couple of questions on this game:

1. What are the Expeditions on the menu page? Are these online campaigns or something - I can't work them out?!?

2. What the hell do you do with all the trading cards you can buy?!? I have earned some but just what are you supposed to do with them????

i have to say the story is really crappy in this game for me. really not interested in it at all. i actually liked listening to the diaries in the first reboot but this one i have zero interest in them.

Just finished this. Really enjoyed it. Actually loved the story. Can't wait for next one. Hopefully won't have long. One thing that does need improving though is AI. I do hope Camilla can do the voice acting for the next one because she was great. 9/10 for me.

Will probably get this on Friday, loved the last game so looking forward to this.

I wondered if there was gonna be a tomb raider TV series so I googled it and apparently there was a mini series in development in December last year but as there has been no mention of it since I'm assuming it got shelved which is a shame because it would make a great series if done right. Closest show to tomb raider would of been relic hunter starring the lovely tia carrera. Not sure how lovely she is now mind, its been a few years since that was on.

I actually have an issue with this game :

Everytime I go into the Marketplace section of the game, it ALWAYS disconnects my Xbox One from Xbox Live? Its done this 3 or 4 times now - it just disconnects my session from Xbox Live - when I return to the Xbox One dashboard, nothing is connected!?!? Its not my console because if I turn it off and back on again, it connects up fine?!?

Its like the Tomb Raider servers just boot me out of Xbox Live?!?

...just wanted to post that I am DONE with this game.

...from the endless deaths when you fail a jump or the endless scenes where wave after wave of bad guys rush at you with their guns (if you don't play on Easy mode where it auto targets the bad guys - shooting is too damn difficult to target multiple enemies on screen) and you have to kill all of them, whilst they shoot at you AND throw grenades at the same time.

Its just doing my head in and really is not enjoyable at all. Its like I am dying about 10 times in every battle scene - because I can't dispatch all the enemies to proceed.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I CALL FUN and really is a chore to play through.............


This game seems to have lost its roots - where are all the puzzles which the Tomb Raider games have been famous for?? Its never been about shooting wave after wave of bad guys in order to proceed.

I agree with the granade spamming it was/is OTT but the gunfights weren't that difficult I thought, I played on the second hardest difficulty, I died a few times but nothing more than you'd expect on a higher level of difficulty.

The final boss fight irritated me, just because it wasnt a straight up gun fight

I agree to with the grenade spamfest, that annoyed me in the Uncharted games too. But I'm not having trouble with gun fights or jumping, I bought this game last week and love it, I probably enjoyed the last one a little bit more but this is enjoyable for me.

that's surprising as i found the gun fights quite easy (had it on normal mode). i don't get what you mean about puzzles? plenty of tombs and puzzles in the game. i actually think they put a lot more in this one than the 2013 one. i didn't actually enjoy the tombs that much in this game though, and they all seem bit the same to me.

Some figures on the tomb raider forums suggest it sold around 500,000 units worldwide through November.

I'm enjoying it, but I think the story is actually worse than that of the last one.

I also don't like Lara's motivation. *I* want to stop the villains and save the day, whereas Lara's motivation is *still* just "I MUST VINDICATE MY FATHER!"

The twist was also horrendously obvious, and I guess it very early on.

I'm really enjoying this game, and ok I'm playing it on normal I find the gun fights fun but a little easy. Wish they'd included the duel desy eagles from the original tomb raider games.

Saw this for £15 in Sainsburys earlier

Not a good sign if it's being discounted so much so soon after release.

I think it was £32 in my local Sainsburys when I was in there yesterday.


With the release schedule being so crowded at this time of year this sort of thing happens as they try and shift games before Christmas just look at The Crew Wild Run it is already under £20.00 and Assassins Creed Syndicate is £25.00.
