RIP Allen Toussaint
Allen Toussaint at age 77.
I remember "Working In The Coal Mine" by Lee Dorsey. This thread won't be up for long, but he was very influential for decades. |

I've heard of him. He was apparently all set for doing a set this weekend at the London Jazz Festival
![]() I know the song, "Working in a Coal Mine" which featured in Martin Scorsese's "Casino". More recently, I came across and loved his piano instrumental version of "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" which also featured in another Scorsese film, "The Wolf of Wall Street". I remember the song was played over the closing credits. |

Sad news indeed.....I must admit to never having heard of him until I bought a LateNightTales compilation by Snow Patrol and came across this track and loved it!
