Corrie - Lager
James J
10-11-2015
Bit of a random one but it jars me how the colour of all the beer in Corrie is dark brown, more like ale.

It's not realistic. Emmerdale has realistic looking lager but Corrie doesn't.

Wonder why this is.

Don't they use shandy bass for lager? I think they use grape juice for wines.

Why can't they use alcohol free beer in the tap

Either way the colour is wrong on Corrie, much more realistic on ED

Not sure about EE but think it's more real like ED

The reason Emmerdale's ale looks realistic is because - IT'S REAL!! I remember one of the cast mentioning it ......they daren't have too many re-takes otherwise they's get too drunk!

Kudos to ED! I know which show I'd prefer to be an actor on!

Corrie's is fake as hell, really annoys me. Surely they can lighten the colour a bit?

EDIT: Just read this on Daily Mail site about 10 Things You Didn't Know About Emmerdale: "1. The cast drink real beer during recording, although they are advised to only drink the alcohol during 'takes' and limit themselves to small amounts. Around twenty gallons of beer and lager are delivered to the set every week."

I love Emmerdale even more now. Wonder why Corrie are so boring about it.
