Strange, absolutely no mention of The Jam (Start) and The Beatles (Taxman), I would have thought that one's a lot more obvious than some of those mentioned.

I spotted one only yesterday.

1950s song Lovey Dovey - sung here by Georgie Fame - opens with the couplet

"You're the cutest thing that I ever did see
I really dig your peach I've got to shake your tree".

The same couplet turns up in The Joker by Steve Miller Band.

You could probably call it an homage but the original song is way better, particularly when Georgie Fame sings it.

I like Georgie Fame, I've got him playing these Joe Zawinal & Van Morrison compositions, on an old CD..
