Urghhhh why do jay and Aliona have the foxtrot when she already did a foxtrot based American smooth ? I wanted a Party Latin dammit !!!!!!
At least they have a good song.

And Anita's QS song. ..wasn't it the same song that Harry and Aliona had for their QS

Dreadful choice for K&K. It's going to be hard to stop that turning into a novelty dance.

Not very good choices of music this week unfortunately.

Helen's Tango music, I like but it does not suit a Tango.

Some dreadful choices there.. Katie, Kellie are going to struggle I think, and Helens choice is really bizarre!'

I absolutely love Jay and Aliona's song ; But then again I like Sam's smith music.
It is so romantic and sad though..... and it's perfect for the foxtrot because it's quite slow. I am expecting this week to be " Jay's breakthrough week performance wise" because this will be a great opportunity to tell the story so I am expecting this to be like their Waltz which was SO romantic/beautiful

How on earth can you samba to A Little Respect?? Disappointed with Jay & Aliona doing a foxtrot, so soon after the foxtrot AS. I really thought it would be salsa or samba. I want to see Jay move those hips!!

It does seem the type of track more suited to an amusing performance by Jeremy.

Still, with a fairly dour list of songs this week.. a high energy song like 'Boom Shake The Room' will probably help Kellie stand out.

I doubt she'll be bottom two.

Yeah, tbh, that crossed my mind. A samba or salsa on that wonderful dancefloor could be amazing from J&A. Remember Matt Baker?!

Here's how: http://youtu.be/XIthvqaQ1Xs

Not perfect samba music, but somewhat workable

there is a remix of shake the room that you can pick a samba out of but not a great song but theme should be goodn Kevin has a knack of doing an authentic dance despite the music but if track is treated in similar manner to the Mark de Rosa remix might work

love hold back the river just cant see it as a tango

That's a good samba arrangement of the song. The problem is Dave Arch doesn't arrange the music to fit the dance (it used to happen but not anymore). Any bets it's going to sound like the original Erasure one. DWTS seem to be much better at this.

Speaks volumes that a samba has been put with two such different songs.

You're My World is a fave song of the missus, I suspect she will hope for a decent effort.

Funny, I heard Don't Get Me Wrong on the radio this afternoon, and thought what a good quickstep it would make.

That could be a producer decision, rather than a failing on Dave Arch's part. Now that they select all the music, it's entirely possible the producers also decide how the music should be arranged, regardless of the fact that it's so often completely wrong for the dance in question.

I think the fact that two pros have nicked Aliona's songs this season is probably proof of what a fab choreographer she is.

Um... this has nothing to do with the quality of Aliona's choreography. The producers decide what songs are going to be used, which is probably why so many songs get reused. The pros no longer have any say in the matter, although I do believe that if a celeb requests a particular song, they stand a better chance of being allowed to use it than if the pro asks for it. There have been a few times that the celebs have mentioned asking for a particular song that they danced to.

Don't get me wrong has been used a few times for a quickstep. I'm guessing because it works well as quickstep music and doesn't cost much in terms of royalties.

As we have been talking about appropriate samba music and arrangents this is a samba arrangement of Pitbull's Fireball - if the producer's are reading this, PLEASE can we have this for a Jay & Aliona Blackpool samba??!! I will spontaneously combust if this happened

Janette Brendan andTrisran have all said they still have some say I thought. I believe only Kristina has said they have no say.

Also Aliona used the two songs that have been reused this series back in 2011 when the pros probably did have more say, and did some beautiful dances to them, which is probably why they are being reused.

If "I think I love you" gets reused for Rumba then I'll accept your point but until it does I guess that if a Pro does a fantastic job with a song it's more likely to get used again.

I love this song but I dont like this arrangement ; it is way too slow That song has been used for a Samba on other shows I think. I prefer the original version for a samba https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMqgVXSvwGo
