Will Thorp's had four of his songs nicked this series. That proves nothing.

Anyone who frequents the DWTS sub forum will know I am a huge Derek fan but my God, that theming sucked. A cane-wielding female paedo-teacher demands respect from her 25 year old student (who's pretending to be 15) by the powers of the samba and a bit of light caning? In 2010? I can only imagine how that would play out if it had been Derek as the teacher and say, Bethany as the pupil. All kinds of wrong.

In the meantime I hate all those songs bar the pretenders but Harry's shoes are big to fill.
I loved Anyone who had a heart but you're my world, and when she has died recently?
Gutted that Jez is not mangling a QS to This charming man. That would have been glorious.

'Boom, Shake the Room' may be a horrible choice for a samba, but at least its a song that surely even Kevin can't make twee. I'm hoping for some Iveta-style 90s rap outfits

Helen's music sounds horrible for a tango and I wish Jay had a more upbeat dance this week.

Blimey - it did didn't it? I've never seen that before (and to be honest, I've only seen about 40 seconds of it now). What on earth were the thought processes behind that one?

Off the top of my head I've got 'Pretty Woman'; what are the other three?

[as an aside, I loved Will Thorp on SCD. The footage of him going for a spray tan was hilarious]

Man! I Feel Like a Woman, You Can't Hurry Love and Dream a Little Dream of Me. Ultimate Strictly helped on that one!

I went to look up the ones I didn't know, and I think everyone except Georgia and Anita has got a duff choice. I think Jamelia's is the worst (great song but not for that dance - that DWTS one is nightmarish). Jay's clearly going to get told he doesn't do enough performance again.

The tango is my favourite dance but I don't know when anyone last had a good tango song.

Somebody to Love was used by Simon last year. Just an inexplicable Rumba to Crazy Chick by Charlotte Church to go and bingo.

(slightly off-topic - I wonder if any couples have had all of their original songs re-used since. By which I mean memorable ones rather than, say, Verona Joseph)

I watched it all the way through and feel a bit queasy now. Do they let pigeons choose the themes for DWTS nowadays?

Interesting song choices , some better than usual I must say .
Jeremy could get his best score yet this week with his dance & song .
Kanton , I'm not sure on this one. Rumba tends to be the dance of death , but Katie is a sexy lady and could carry it off . Fingers crossed .
I think kellie will smash her routine and I'm REALLY looking forward to it .
Same with anita , this will be special . I'm thinking she might manage the 10 paddle on this .
Helen and aliaz will do a super tango I think . She is an actress, has some nice moves and he is a fabulous pro so I'm expecting great things .
Georgia and gio are a force to be reckoned with . The charleston will be right up their street .
Peter has the waltz and a decent song too so should be at least middle of the board .But ballroom is really not his thing so there won't be any 10s for him this week methinks .
Jamelia . I'll be honest , I've no great expectations of her smashing any dance at this point , but she could prove me wrong and this might be her week to shine .
Jay , great dance, fabulous music . Looking soppy with aliona shouldn't tax his acting abilities so he should do well .

Jamelia's Samba song is awful I thought she'd be given a MUCH more upbeat song like her Cha Cha Cha and Salsa.

I can see I'm going to dislike Kellie and Kevin even more after their song and dance their huge, overly emphasised grins will be on point.

The worrying thing is that it wasn't even 'nowadays' - it's from five years ago! It's been on the internet for half a decade! That!

Ooooh I love the original too but I imagine it would be too fast for anyone to do a clean dance to other than ballroom latin dancers. One thing that I thought wasn't in Georgia's favour on Saturday - it was fast so she looked a bit untidy. That's why I chose the 51bpm version Only my opinion, of course x

...how do you get more upbeat than A Little Respect?...

On the whole, the music choices have been barmy this year. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a Rumba danced to 'I'm Mandy .. Fly Me' in the next few weeks.

Actually I'd rather see him tackle something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wunq6YlcSX0

Looks like it could be another strong week for Anita and Georgia (touches wood). Really want both to make Blackpool.

Anita, Georgia and Peter have the best music for their dances. I don't like or care for any of the others and Jamelia's song is perplexing in their extreme. Jeremy has the best of the songs but not sure it would be good as a QS as it's a bit too boppy perhaps. He's an old punk I think and I wouldn't be surprised to learn Karen's one too.

At first was disappointed with Jay not doing a latin but im now looking forward to fact he should be doing one at Blackpool if he is there. Lay Me Down is one of my favourite songs so really looking forward to seeing him do a foxtrot to it.

Also Anita & Georgia have good songs that will suit them

Took the words right out of my mouth! I feel he has not had a party dance at all

Don't see the problem with the Tango song, as it has a sort of tango beat underneath it Perhaps a bit fast, and they can easily slow it down as proven in the past, but it could have been a lot worse.

Case in point, K&K's Samba song Well, that is one way to get people voting for a bottom two bounce, I guess Not suited for samba at all and a song which won't inspire the Strictly target groups to vote (yes, I am contradicting myself).

Between this, his 50's fetish, Harry Potter and Star Wars, it is probably the 80's next (never mind, Kellie already rode the ET bicycle during movie week).

If "I think I love you" gets reused for Rumba then I'll accept your point but until it does I guess that if a Pro does a fantastic job with a song it's more likely to get used again.”

The pros are allowed to put in a request for certain songs if they want to, but there's no guarantee they'll actually get those songs. Tristan has said he'd put in requests a few times this series but the requests were turned down. Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that the pros would choose songs that were so ill-suited for the dances.

I'm not disparaging Aliona's choreography, by the way. I'm just saying that previous choreography may not have any relevance as to whether or not a song is reused.

Oh yeah I know,

And tbh I thought I'd posted my comment in the attic where gushing is less likely to be questioned so don't worry I was expecting it
