It's on sale now, very sadly priced at a pound under £800. Total rip-off from the world's richest corporation, when the conversion prices from the same model (128gb wi-fi) in Apple Pie Land is £649.

I was really looking forward to this, but at such a high price they know where they can shove it!

But that price is without tax the UK charge 20% which is a further £130.

So +20% VAT and it comes to - £778.80 - not exactly miles away in price is it?

But sales tax can be anything between 1%-10% depending on the State....so could still be way off the UK price.

But if you buy something in the UK you have to have the 20% VAT added on. So, like I said not far off the price at all. If you compare a US price after converting $ to £ you have to add on VAT to get a fair comparison.

And the £22 extra can easily be accounted with highers costs in the UK

That's why the US prices is always without tax. Either way, add 20% to the US price and you get almost exactly the UK price. So Apple isn't ripping you off.

Personally I'd get the Surface Pro, a far better machine. The iPad "Pro" isn't Pro at all, it's just a big iPad. The Surface can run all Windows PC software, has a proper digitizer and software for graphics use, expandable memory, a proper keyboard accessory etc.

Good news to people buying the Cellular one you do not have a choice/get a choice of Hard Drive
you have to have the most expensive one - that is the biggest one

All IPad Pros are expensive on Apple UK's website I shall not be getting one - they can shove it for all I care
- if it was £200-£300 cheaper then properly I would have bought one but £799 for the 128GB WiFi only model
is way too much for me and way out of my league - how can people afford this in the middle of a recession?

But my first ipad 3 was £650 with the case, so it's not a million miles apart

Ordered mine yesterday morning, expected delivery tomorrow, it's just turned up at work. Of course I shouldn't have been so rough on the box thinking it was the Snugg case I'd ordered.. Oops. Going to try and avoid opening it till tomorrow or I won't get ANY work done tonight!

watching some 4k vids on youtube in awe.

missing jailbreak for transfering stuff from leef ibridge usb with ifile (back to itunes)

having used this you'll not go back to ipad after a week nevermind a day.

Are people complaining about the difference in price between the US and UK suggesting that the prices should change daily to reflect the difference in currency rates?

Watch out for the charging issue that requires a cold reboot.

Enjoy your new toy though for those buying it, lovely size screen for watching videos.
