been to 2 computor shops in the past week and neither of them had a graphics tablet to sell !
A bit surprising as surely a lot of people are getting into photoshop and you cant really do that with just your mouse .

Went on line to check out Staples, could nt see any there

Went on line to Maplins, they seem to have a few.... not cheap... starting in the £40's

Looks like Ill have to get along to Maplins

Sorry but £40 is very cheap for a tablet, and will in all likelihood be crap. I have 4 in work and they were between £500 & £800 and they're not even considered to be really expensive. You go go up to 3k or so for a tablet.

you are talking about live tablets that let you create an image on them... used by serious artists

Wacom are veterans in this market - search for Wacom tablet in Amazon and have a browse - usually receive decent customer feedback.

Wrong type of Tablet, this should really be in the PC & Mac Hardware and Software section.

But as been said, Wacom have been in the game for many years, a friend of mine uses a Wacom tablet as she is a graphic designer, it is a big larger and more expensive by about £350 than the one the OP is buying.

I've got a large Intous 5 and was thinking of upgrading to a Cintiq which is the Wacom tablet with an interactive screen. But then I thought, I've already got an iPad can't I just use this as a second monitor for my mac, show photoshop on it and just buy an interactive pen. Guess what, there's apps that let you do just that. There's probably one that lets you do that with Windows products.

It is, my friend have the Intuos Pro large, it works well on the Mac.

Feels good using it with photoshop,,,, but why is the stylus seperate ?
and black .... so easy to misplace

First thing I did was sellotape string to the stylus then tie the string to
the tablet

People prefer it to be separate, best thing is to have one of those pen holder type things on your desk and stick it in there.
Gone past the days where tablets pens had to be attached, thank goodness.

You should love using it once you get used to it, my friend is going to get another one so she do not have to move it from one computer to the other.

I bought a cordless mouse - loved the freedom but kept misplacing it. I now tie it to pc with a piece of string .

But Maplins is what most people call their high-street stores, even those of us who remember the days of their mail-order catalogue with the futuristic space scenes on the cover (they were pretty damn good).

Maplins is still good today, if you're in a hurry, or to pick up some heavily discounted clearance items.

I like Maplin, the excitement I had when I heard it was coming here. the problem is it have been about 6 months since I last went in there. i did buy my Keyboard from them via mail order.

In my case the stylus is black, so easily lost among the bedsheets.... as I surf from my bed ..... via a 36" LCD TV

The stylus is now attached to the tablet by string so it will never get lost .
