Jay hands down. Janette was awesome in that dance and dragged it up. Although it was , of course, very good.

Or could it have been something to do with the Youtube videos we've ALL watched...???!

"Naturally gifted dancer" yet he became a singer?? Makes sense....”

@ your outraged ???!!??!!! >:( I seem to have hit a sore spot. My apologies.

The fact is though, no amount of training can make make someone look effortlessly graceful and elegant on the dancefloor.

As for your argument that Jay becoming a singer somehow means that he can't be a gifted dancer, surely that alone would suggest that he had no idea that he had dancing feet?

i don't think they can really be compared directly. jay is obviously a better technician, but peter's charleston was pretty good and genuinely engaging. its not all about the execution.

No apology needed - except for if you are apologising for giving me a near hernia laughing?!

Been there, done that...

As for Jay vs Ramps, they should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Ramps & Karen's AT is the stuff of Strictly legend. Jay & Aliona's could have been but she woefully failed to make the most of both the dance and Jay's dance training. That ship has now sailed...

Haha.

Hang on though, Jay was the only one in that class who could perform any of the moves. He is just a completely natural talent, and no one could ever teach that sort of ability. That's why everyone else he trained with just stood still waving their arms around while Jay was at the front

Could you point me to where I said that or even mentioned the pros.

Looking forward to your reply.

Jay's jive will be remembered as an iconic dance of any series, Peter's will be remembered for it's laughable 10s imo”

Also impressive that Jay has never done partnered dancing or lifts before. How on earth did he manage to do well in his dances in such short time?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lULoy1e1Ino ... I'm presuming the clip at 1:27s in doesn't count.

Looks like no one else at Jay's dance school was able to do what he could do...

Couldn't let this pass. Kara and Artem's VW, American Smooth, Rumba far surpass that Jive, but of course, it's all subjective. What moves me will not move you and vice versa.

That's generous, I think Peter's Charleston will go down with fellow 38 scoring dances including Pamela's Charleston, Susannah's Foxtrot, Jake's samba forgotten, other than to say "how on earth did that get that score?"

Only for his being gifted an iconic routine of an iconic scene from an iconic movie dressed as a john travolta clone complete with bewigged uma therman lookalike partner that everyone and their grandpa recognises .All they needed was to ship in tarantino to complete the iconic-acity of the thing
Nothing original , nothing unique , just a copy cat routine padded out with moves from jays 6 years of dance training . He could have danced the macarena and still have got a 10 for throwing in the pulp fiction dance scene .Pfft .

I look forward to you posting a link to a clip of John Travolta and Uma Thurman dancing a jive.

Don't be silly, they didn't dance a jive . The jive is dance academy standard fare when you've attended as long as jay did .

Me too

Think I read that the jive has had nearly 4 millions hits on the Strictly F/B page now. And the comments about it are pretty much all positive. How could they not be? It was absolutely fantastic. I think most people recognise that.

JT and UT didn't even do a jive in that scene And weren't they supposed to be stoned?

So it was a copycat jive of a twist routine. Right you are.
