In last nights episode Lawrence told Chrissie that he met her mum Ellen not long after he got out of prison. So my theory is that he told Ellen about his time in prison and how it has led to intimacy problems. She agreed to a sexless marriage. They both wanted kids so they adopted Chrissie and Rebecca because of Lawrence's struggles. I dont think that Lawrence is Chrissie's biological dad. Because then it wouldnt make sense how Lawrence can be intimate with Ellen but not Bernice. What are your opinions on this ??

No. I havent created this thread before. I have posted in a thread similar to this one though. I posted this thread to see who agrees with my theory.

You could have said the same thing in the other thread though. People would have responded if they'd wanted to

I don't think that is the case, there is a huge debate going on in that thread that I started about Lawrence being Chrissy's father so your comment might have got over looked in between all the back and forth.

But I don't think Chrissy is adopted, I think her mom had a guy on the side who fathered Chrissy and her sister, Lawerence was aware of this and they agreed to raise the girls as his kids. I also think from last night's episode that Chrissy is aware of this.

Yeah. But Emmerdale have done so many affair storylines recently. We need something different. We need at least someone to stay faithful in a marriage. Also I think it would be a really emotional storyline to do and it would be interesting to see Chrissie go in search of her biological parents (if she wanted to).

I like Chrissie being Lawrences daughter. They have a lovely bond so I'm not sure about that.

I agree Emmerdale has had as many as affairs this year as McDonalds sells Big Macs, but I don't think Chrissy's mother had a normal affair. My theory and that she had a long term relationship with a man who gave her what Lawrence couldn't. Lawrence was aware of the relationship, maybe even encouraged it so his wife could be happy in all aspects of her life.

Yeah. But no matter how strong there bond is. She would probably want answers. She would want to know why her biological parents gave her away.

Anybody involved in a 'normal' marriage wouldn't but if he was unable or unwilling to sleep with her himself he might deem it a sacrifice worth making to keep her happy and in the marriage.

Believe it or not, some people are willing to turn a blind eye to infidelity in certain circumstances.

I wasn't ignoring you in the other thread by the way. I just didn't feel i had anything constructive to respond with on your posts as I'd only have been repeating what I'd already said.

Sometimes it is just 'luck' as to which person i respond to as i would say the much the same thing each time.

It's where a 'like' button would be useful on DS.

Not always. Some people don't have that desire, they do consider the people that raised them to betheirpare they don't need any others.

I have two friends whose Mothers left them when they were babies and although they've always known the situation, they view their fathers, step mothers and grand parents who raised them to be the only family they need. They have no wish or desire to talk to their Mothers.

I also have a couple of friends who are adopted. Again, no interest in meeting their birth parents.

I haven't read the other threads, so I'll join yours if I may.

Has anyone considered that Chrissie and Rebecca could have been concieved by IFV. It would have been around that time that "Test tube babies" were successful.
