Sometimes I wonder if todays generation would even consider that, there are some that would and well done to them. But I see so many of them in my town that leave school with nothing and couldn't care less.

Woah steady on with the generalisations

My 21 and 18 year olds are at university completing English and maths degrees, they want to be teachers. As children of a nurse they know what hard work is!

Elle couldn't do anything much.

April thought 3 people for £10 an hour was a good price to ask. No business sense at all there.

Megim was always a lightweight - lots of hot air.

They're not allowed to leave school now , they have to stay in education or training until 18. Thanks minority of young people are as you assume not the majority.

I think kids today especially in my area, it way way harder than I did at the same age down south .There are no full time jobs for the less academic kids and all the steel works and pits have closed and heavy industry is following them

The majority of school leavers that I have seen seem to want everything for nothing. I commend your children.. And also you've instilled into them about hard work..if kids don't get that work ethos from parents then it's a lost cause. And then they see these celebrities winning on X factor/BGT..that sort of thing and think it's easy to be a millionaire.

Yeah there's no harm in dreaming. But the world is too full of dreamers his age who see shows like this as the easy route. They need a reality check.

You're Fired!

Nah kidding I actually haven't minded him on YF and that show he had travelling Sri Lanka on BBC Three but he's on all the panel shows and such every week which can be annoying.

We offered free training places on an archaeological dig this summer to young people. It was hard work although there is far more than just digging and would have looked great on a CV for any job. Not only did we not have many takers, but a few did not even bother to turn up or disappeared within a day when they realised it was hard work. It was a huge shame.

Last year's triple firing was more funny. I kinda felt bad for them this time around even though it was probably the right decision(s). Lol. That was brutal though.

Then I should introduce you them and their friends,.
I also have an amazing team of young care assistants who work their butts off for 7 quid an hour 44 hours a week 12 hour shifts.
My experience with young people is at odds with yours.

You should come to my area, they seem to take it as a big thing to laze around once they leave school. They dont want to take menial jobs, that when we left school we would do for our own money.. They think they are above these type of jobs.. And then if they have parents that don't work then they think it's the done thing.
