I liked this, particularly the 'Teabag' episode.

I can see why others think it's rubbish, and it is a bit inconsistent, the acting is pretty low level (though Josh is a comedian, not an actor) and it's a bit predictable, I just like the characters and some of the lines (particularly from Owen) are very funny.

This is really bad, how on earth did drivel like this get comissioned?
A pilot on iplayer comedy feeds back in 2014 was deemed hugely successful

Josh's acting isn't the best but it's his writing and the jokes/script suit his style. That said, maybe it would have been better with a 'proper' actor in the role.
Probably hard to do with it being semi-autobiographical and his baby.

Also saying that, Ellis James also started out as a standup and he was a lot more natural in the acting role and Jack Dee for that matter.

I just finished watching the last one and will miss it. I like Not Going Out, and I thought this was the same sort of thing, so I liked this as well. I think the gag writing and oneliners were of a high standard--found the script very witty and clever.

But I did feel a lot of the best lines were thrown away. I blame the director for that, because the actors--Jack Dee (and Jennifer Saunders) excepted--were talking too fast, often almost gabbling ... so they were not letting the jokes breathe. Unlike several commenters, I did find the Katie character very watchable and funny. I thought she was hilarious in the one where she dressed up as a pint of Guinness.

Josh's acting is terrible, especially considering he is playing a version of himself. But then his other TV work is often ruined by his poor delivery so I wasn't surprised. Most of the scripts have been OK, though the one about the fake wedding was dire. At best it's sometimes amusing. Beattie Edmondson is pretty good, her misfit character is at least something unusual. The three misfits in the flat situation reminds me a lot of Game On, but nowhere near as good. The real saving grace for me is Jack Dee who is excellent as the landlord.

Jack Dee's character is the weak link. He's not funny.

I still think the swimming tutorial is one of the funniest scenes of the year.

This is probably why bbc3 is being shunted off to the iPlayer. Do they have a teenager in charge there? Or a monkey perhaps?

I couldn't find the thread (if there was one) for series 2. It was on iPlayer with a repeat on BBC One. What did you think of it?

A third series has been commissioned as well.

Series two was a big improvement ( I think I might have written the same elsewhere?). Everything runs more smoothly and Josh is less whiny.

It's getting harder to raise laughs from audiences who have seen a lot of it before, but I laughed a lot at this.
