I liked this, particularly the 'Teabag' episode.
I can see why others think it's rubbish, and it is a bit inconsistent, the acting is pretty low level (though Josh is a comedian, not an actor) and it's a bit predictable, I just like the characters and some of the lines (particularly from Owen) are very funny. |

Probably hard to do with it being semi-autobiographical and his baby. Also saying that, Ellis James also started out as a standup and he was a lot more natural in the acting role and Jack Dee for that matter. |

I just finished watching the last one and will miss it. I like Not Going Out, and I thought this was the same sort of thing, so I liked this as well. I think the gag writing and oneliners were of a high standard--found the script very witty and clever.
But I did feel a lot of the best lines were thrown away. I blame the director for that, because the actors--Jack Dee (and Jennifer Saunders) excepted--were talking too fast, often almost gabbling ... so they were not letting the jokes breathe. Unlike several commenters, I did find the Katie character very watchable and funny. I thought she was hilarious in the one where she dressed up as a pint of Guinness. |

Josh's acting isn't the best but it's his writing and the jokes/script suit his style. That said, maybe it would have been better with a 'proper' actor in the role.

Jack Dee's character is the weak link. He's not funny.

I still think the swimming tutorial is one of the funniest scenes of the year.

I couldn't find the thread (if there was one) for series 2. It was on iPlayer with a repeat on BBC One. What did you think of it?
A third series has been commissioned as well. |

A third series has been commissioned as well. It's getting harder to raise laughs from audiences who have seen a lot of it before, but I laughed a lot at this. |
