David's pipe almost certainly won't feature in his business plan, you are right. But it might be taken to indicate a lack of attention to detail, which might be more important. If Lord Sugar were still in the satellite box business, ordering the wrong-sized components would be very expensive not just in cash terms but also by holding up production which in turn might mean reputational damage or even lost contracts as buyers go elsewhere. Even within the confines of this task, those too-short rods were useless; just scrap metal.
But David was not fired; nor was Elle for the dingy, so Lord Sugar clearly does weigh context and proportion. its almost moved to a new stage. It became a problem that the people best on tasks, with most business skills, looked as if they lost for no good reason - other than not having a business that interested him. The tasks are now looking more random with more potential holes to fall in, and inadequate information, or tools to make the right decisions, or do the thing properly. Its pretty random who wins, and pretty random what the answer to the key questions is. That leaves no one much looking like they deserve to win. or sacked. , |

She rarely says anything nice about anyone, and when she does it is always followed by a "but". She is so condescending too.

Um, I like Karen. Don't see what makes her a "witch". What an unpleasant comment, she's just very professional and has high standards. The same as Claude. For all the supposed "faces" she pulls and "nasty comments" she makes you could say the exact same for Claude so I don't see why Karen is being singled out. They are both good presences on the show.

Thank Goodness she made some fair points this week, notably she called out Scott for being a flat-out LIAR.

Karen is a cow and gets worse with each series.
She's fake. Nick use to pull the funny faces which was natural for him, not her! And now all of a sudden she's pulling weird faces. I used to like her but she's a bitch now. |

It was the way this week she said to Sam, interrupting him, have you ever run a business? I don't rate the woman anyway, being born into a privileged lifestyle and landing on her feet from the age of 18. She's also a fake, saying she had a history degree then admitting later on it was a lie. How that qualifies her to judge the credibility of others is beyond me. She epotimses the mantra of its not what you know but who you know

One interesting thing, Karren's actually been on the show for much longer than you'd think. She's actually been an advisor longer than Margaret now, if you can believe that.
She's definitely been a bit more tart with people this season. I wonder how much of that is to do with the edit? You're Fired especially has really been trying to play up the 'reason' each candidate has been fired that week, every week, even when they're very tenuous. I thought this was especially apparent with Jenny's firing when they brought up the mussels/restaurant thing which was a very minor part of why they lost that task. |

I like Karren. She seems straight to the point and puts people in their place. She has always been mean right from day one, so I don't get what change people are now seeing.
I love the funny faces she pulls. They crack me up. But she does seem sad all the time. Mergim should cheer her up I wasn't too sure about the "Lord Sugar doesn't like dishonesty" speech in front of Brett and Vana. Hasn't Sugar taken on Lee and Yasmina who both made things up. Surely that's classed as dishonest too? |

Karren was good on You're Fired; she gave insightful comments about the candidates, and had obviously spent a lot of time observing their personalities. She should incorporate this into her advisory role, instead of copying Nick, Margeret and Claude's styles.

Actually she does occasionally have the hots for a bloke and then she is nice about them, it was that awful Neil and now it's the revolting Brett. She's a shameless old hussy in my view.

Because she is a LORD now, for the house of commons or something like that. She probably has to be a witch now. It's probably a requirement.

Bring back Margaret!
She was particularly bad tonight. She began praising the team, then told NONE of this to Lord Sugar in the boardroom. She then went full Karren and added to every little thing that went wrong.
What's worse is that in the nut incident, she told Gary to be careful in case of accidents, to his face WHILST HE WAS WITH THE CLIENTS. And then, of course, in the boardroom, she berated him for causing worry when in fact she was the one to cause worry, for that poor woman, unbelievable. I can't wait to see the day she starts firing people of her own accord. "No, Alan wouldn't like you. Yes, I can call him Alan and you can't. And for that, you're fired. It may also be worth noting that of the eight tasks, Karren followed the losing team on six of them. Oh how I wonder if there was any correlation... |

After this task I can't take her seriously as a "supervisor" any more. She was singing Garys Teams praises throughout the task but when the boardroom rolled around and it turned out her team had lost and Lord Sugar was unhappy she did a u-turn faster than even the most back-stabbing candidates.
Rather than tell Lord Sugar who did well and what went right as soon as Lord Sugar said "this went wrong" Karen was quick to say "yep I agree and here's why". She's no more than a yes woman to Lord Sugar now. I really hope she isn't here after this season but we all know we probably won't be getting rid of her any time soon |

Claude was very negative about Selina's team on day one and quite rightly so but that team pulled it off on day two. Is Claude a two faced witch for not laying into the team in the boardroom about their poor performance with the client? |

The comments about Karren usually seem to say more about the person who's commenting than Karren herself.
It always makes me laugh how people project their own insecurities and whatnot onto her without any insight or awareness. You see threads full of people blurting out: "Oh, Karren touched her hair last episode, clearly she was trying to show everyone how much money she has and also making a jab at the poor and also proving that she doesn't do any hard work and clearly has time to spend all day at a salon and she obviously wants everyone to know how privileged she is, nasty woman." Then with Margret, it's: "You see the way she touched her elbow? She was obviously telling everyone that she worked hard in life and appreciates how difficult it can be for those from more deprived backgrounds. She was obviously showing that she admires 'elbow grease', top lady" (Similar stories with Claude & Nick) I don't really have much of an opinion of Karren either way, and I think she has seemed a little more snippy this series, but we know that we don't get to see everything, and each episode has been heavily edited before we get to see it. We can't really make many concrete assumptions knowing that. |

Lord Sugar knew that the team asked for contact details so obviously she relayed the positive to him.

Like many who have had it handed to them, she has no understanding of how fortunate she is.
What, the truth you mean? I suspect that's true. Actually she does occasionally have the hots for a bloke and then she is nice about them, it was that awful Neil and now it's the revolting Brett. She's a shameless old hussy in my view. She is horrible, she is extremely unprofessional and has no standards other than greed privilege and selfishness, I'd say witch is comlemenatary But we don't know he was a liar. We only know she didn't witness Brett saying that to Scott. I agree except I have never liked her. Quite. She hasn't made anything of herself, it's all been handed to her. And she is a proven liar. No wonder she's in the lords supporting the Torys I thought she was dreadful, somebody wrote her a script and she's no actress No idea how you can like her. She's rude and haughty with out having any right to be, she has not achieved anything. Quote:

I've no great fondness for Karren either way. She does a job on TA as directed by the prog. TA is a fairly blunt and at times it is downright insulting and rude to the participants. But Karren is no worse than anyone else on the prog. Sugar is probably the rudest person on TA. Furthermore, the prog is highly edited. The boardroom scenes we see are most likely a tiny fraction of what was filmed. So who knows what was said overall? |

Karren did a nice job this week with her facial expressions and her well-timed comments.

I think Karren does a great job. I liked Margaret a lot and was very disappointed when I heard she was going, but I think Karren has filled the role well. It's her job to observe, and if candidates are giving a version of events that she doesn't recognise, to expose that. Sometimes she'll have information Lord Sugar doesn't have because she was there and he wasn't. I like it when the advisors cut it. What's the point of being there if you don't?

I don't like how she keeps butting in on tasks this series. Or perhaps she's always done it but they don't usually show it on camera? Her job is to observe, not direct, AND it's better TV if she leaves them to screw up. Obviously someone would have had to deal with the nut thing if they had given the mum the cake without telling her it might contain nuts, but that's NOT what happened. She needs to stop interfering.
