I'm hoping channel 5 find some up and coming talented staff rather than get former corrie and other soap staff.

This could be a long shot but Charles Pattinson owns Company Pictures which produces successful new Irish soap Red Rock which is set in a coastal town too. Maybe they're adapting the idea for British TV?

If its even half as good as Red Rock we're in for a treat! It's a fantastic show!

Snap!It really needs to be distinct from the other soaps on tv and not fall into the pattern of following too closely every bit and detail of whats considered the standard soap formula. An already established british soap talent is unlikely to have the set of fresh eyes needed in my opinion.

Sounds very intriguing and exciting! If so Im sure it wont be a carbon copy but will be a variation on the basic premise.

Les Battersby front of the queue, followed by Bet Lynch.

Extremely weird.

I'm pretty sure Lesley Joseph was in it too.

Interesting I might give this one a go, it's good to catch them in the beginning, that's why Eastenders is the only one I still watch, gave up the rest years ago.

Charles Pattinson definitely has an interesting resume, this has the potential to be a cracker, I just hope that if it isn't an instant success (In channel 5 terms that's not setting the bar very high) that they don't drop it with a brisk stroke of a pen. Many British T.V series weren't instant successes but matured nicely Fawlty Towers and Blackadder being classic examples, perseverance and strong writing with interesting stories is what's needed, not instant sensationalism, car crashes, train crashes, helicopters falling out of sky, good characterisation and interesting people with a story to tell is far more important imo.
