Wear hign-vis jackets and steel toe capped boots!
I half expected David to say "and where do you expect us to get them in 20 minutes?" and the women to say "damn, I left mine at home!"
He didn't show any surprise so does that mean they had them in their wardrobes and had seen them already? It would have been more believable if the jackets and boots had been seen to be delivered to the house in boxes and show the candidates opening them. Also, the phone call and getting ready in that time is so unrealistic. There's no way I'd be ready in time, and get an upstairs phone at least! |

Well they obviously were given them before hand as in one scene Elle was seen to be opening the box with her boots in and looking totally bemused by them. So she hadn't brought them with her, so I assume the production team handed them out off camera.
What I don't really get, is how come some of them dressed up suits etc, but Bret realising the nature of this task dressed more appropriately. |

"cars will pick you up in 20 minutes ".I've always wondered how up to 18 of them manage to get showered and dressed in 20 minutes.... And presumably eat breakfast??

You can still be glam with hair and make up yet wear something a little more practical. |

The beginning of the show now annoys me
Of course, they already had the high vis jackets and steel capped boots, they just had to put the bloomin things on Got the phone call at 5:30am Cars will be there in 20 mins A shared house full of men & woman, unless it's got 10 separate bathrooms, of course they don't get ready in 20 mins The cars probably arrive after 20 mins, and then they sit there for one or two hours I want Lord Sugar to go back to basics, remember in Series 2, he went to the house himself at 7am, and pressed the doorbell, with a camera shot of him peering into the peep hole of the door, and got them out of bed, because they didn't know he was coming Watch the beginning of this: 4mins 17secs https://youtu.be/upwp5vZlUB8?t=250 |

^^ next week he does it, and someone (didn't catch who) walks in late. I think he does it every series, not necessarily unannounced.

They didn't need the jackets or steel toe capped boots anyway did they? just casual wear, comfie shirts, some jeans and sensible shoes or boots or wellies. why they have to even mention cars will be there in 20 minutes is just ridiculous too. |

I noticed that Karen wore stiletto heels - that didn't exactly set an example did it?

The shoes are a case in point - steel toe capped boots and a dress? A very difficult outfit to pull off. They always wear ridiculous heels, and you see them running around shops and such like. Why do we never see them hobbling around afterwards covered in ankle plasters, or covered in blood like we would do in reality? You pay a price for high fashion at the office. It was rather gratuitous when they had to collect farmyard mature, it was almost fetish like! Poor sexist production from the beeb! |

I suppose the briefing was given outside the builder's yard but then the candidates went INSIDE it, where they needed the PPE. |

Been in loads of builders yards and have never had a need to wear hi-viz or steelies just for picking up some gear, most places won't let you move the stuff yourself thats outside and the stuff inside normally wouldn't need toe caps for a few tins of paint .
Also, at the risk of thinking too deeply about this, I suspect it's more about fulfilling the BBC's H&S requirements than anything else. After all, if one of the candidates ends up standing on a nail or getting run over by a fork-truck the BBC is a nice, juicy, source of compo' and, of course, an injured candidate means costly delays to producing the show. |

I agree, the way they still all got dressed in business suits (and knee skirts for the women, really? even a trouser suit would be more pragmatic) and just put the jackets on top was a bit ridiculous. Surely they had some other clothes to wear even if jeans and a jumper?
