"'It wouldn’t be impossible for the three of us to work together again. We went in very different routes, but I don’t think we’re hugely different in our tastes of music, just what we actually make.”

Now I'm not holding out any hope for an actual reunion, but it is interesting to see her even say this when all three of them have been adamant for the past twenty odd years that working together again would be a complete no-no.

The two of them have been performing together for most of the last 20 years. It's only been Siobhan Fahey who's refused to get involved, seemingly because she's too precious. Re-appearing in Bananarama is beneath her, it would seem.

I don't think she left on good terms.

You're wrong, Siobhan has said in the past with the right producer she was sure that they could come up with a sound and vibe that would suit everyone.

Things were bad when she left; but they are all friends now. If you read the interview, Keren mentions that they all met up in LA. Plus there's plenty of pics of them on social media together.

I like Bananarama, it's my mum's music lol.

Their 80's output is so catchy but they would go down the same route as Madonna chartwise, good for the fans though

They would do much worse than Madonna's new music. Madonna's albums still chart in the Top 10. Doubt a new album from them would even chart.

Their 80's output is great if a little cheesy, but their recent albums they have done are bad. They kind of abandoned their pop sound for more of a Hi-Energ disco thing which is annoying.

Madonna does have more serious songs and ballads than Bananarama which gives her a wider appeal. Bananarama is more limited in just doing cheesy 80's pop.

their output pre SAW is not THAT cheesy I think, it is better than today's manufactured girl bands.
Tracks like Really saying something and Shy boy

Their 90's stuff is probably cheesier than the Spice Girls

you forget that people have a fondness for Bananarama that Madonna has never really enjoyed outside of her rabid fan base. And people snigger at Madonna and her antics now which isn't a problem Bananarama have

Yes, but Bananarama hasn't been releasing things on a regular basis as Madonna has. So a lot of people who have maybe used to like them, have forgotten all about them. Madonna has her haters, but she also has a group of very loyal fans who have stayed with her because she released new material and tours on a regular basis.
I think you are putting too much emphasis on whether people like someone as to whether that will translate into sales of their new music. For a lot of 80's artists, people have fondness for them but that means they mostly just want to hear the older hits, it doesn't mean they are going to want to buy new music from them.
If you check their chart positions of recent albums, Madonna has achieved much higher positions than Bananarama.
A lot of people laugh at Bananarama too. They certainly aren't considered a serious artist by critics. They mostly lip sync and do bad dance moves. Hardly performers people take seriously or don't make jokes about. So I think a lot of people do snigger at Bananarama too.

Well to be fair, she's more remembered as the scary vamp lady from Shakespears Sister so she'd probably like to remain that way.

Bananarama's Oz tour seems to be going very well! A new track in the set list 'Got To Get Away' sounds like the best thing they've done in a while and bodes very well for their new album.

And Madonna drops into another topic about a particular artist. Yawn

Bananarama had a wonderful career of fun songs.

Yeah, Summer '83. They had some really good songs in the early '80's, but not as keen on the SAW stuff tbh.

Cruel Summer and 1983 just went together so well. It hit the charts in July and August when the weather was fabulous. See below;

July 1983 - http://metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/c/k/Jul1983.pdf

August 1983 - http://metoffice.gov.uk/media/pdf/c/f/Aug1983.pdf

Probably their best record, in one of the very best summers too.

Please God no! Just a trio of average backing singers with good production. Do we really need them? Desperate.
