ED: Nicola return
Anyone else pleased/happy to see her back, just another healthy reminder of what a great group of characters the show has for me. Queuing for Charity return too...

I agree. The show really has the best cast and the best group of characters out of all the soaps.
I especially enjoyed how amused David, Tracy and Brenda were about the situation. |

So glad she's back, she has been dearly missed this year. I just hope she somehow manages to get Mill Cottage back *fingers crossed*

Just keep her away from the deeply unfunny prat that is Jimmy.

Oh yes, her return was fantastic. I found it hilarious when she started throwing Priya's cushions out of the window.
![]() ![]() ![]() I definitely agree Emmerdale has a wonderful set of characters. Everywhere you look, there's something going on with a certain character, and there's no such thing as a secondary character. Everyone gets their fair share IMO. EE and CS are full of deadwood these days.

I love Nicola and thought her return was the best part of yesterday's episode

I love Nicola but as I've said in another post it's ridiculous her going to Home Farm and announcing she and Angel are going to live there.

Her return has been a cringe worthy farce that Jimmeh stuff is just dreadful. I love them as a couple but I'm just not loving how they've handled it.

I found all that stuff with her breaking in and chucking Priya' s clothes out of the window deeply unfunny. I liked Nicola but I haven' t missed her. I hate when they do this ' comedy stuff' with her and Jimmy. Jimmy doesn' t even to be taking this latest falling out seriously. He' s just assuming he can use some stunt ( no doubt involving humiliating himself) to make it up to her.

I'm glad she's back, but I thought the breaking-into-her-old-house thing was a bit stupid.

I haven't seen the eps yet but I have missed her so, so much. She makes me laugh. A lot like Val - two people I would avoid like the plague if they were real, but that I love(d) to watch on screen. I would prefer a bit more comedy in Emmerdale and Nicola will provide that.

] I was looking forward to Nicola returning to the show, but I was very disappointed with the ridiculous storyline; and David, Brenda and Tracy, sniggering behind a wall like silly schoolchildren, was embarrassing to watch. Then Nicola turned up at the White's home, assuming she could live there because her half-sister is courting Lawrence. Roll on the New Year and new producer. |

I have to agree Janet. Whilst I love Nicola and Jimmy, I found her return to be utterly farcical. It went beyond any realm of reality and made her look absolutely ridiculous and slightly unhinged. Nicola is many things (and I love her for many of them) but on this occasion her behaviour really went too far all for a few cheap gags.
I know I'm a bit of a miserable bigger and have said before that I do prefer the more dramatic and realistic storylines, so humour is sometimes lost on me, but try as I might to enjoy her much anticipated return I just couldn't believe the garbage we were presented with and expected to swallow!! Nicola essentially caused criminal damage, trespassed and practically burgled Rakesh and Priya! Whilst I expected her reaction to Jimmy's incompetence to be in keeping with the character, on this occasion I felt they took it to another level, and the pair were once again made a laughing stock. |

Jimmy is a total buffoon these days. I don't think he would work with anyone. He was always a bit hapless but never the bumbling idiot he is now. I can't stand him and find the attempts at comedy with him painfully unfunny especially the recent Rodney stuff. He and Nicola made me gag in last night's second episode. Nicola can pull off comedy but not this substandard sitcom rubbish with Jimmy.

Loved seeing her back, the breaking into her old house was mildly amusing but her moving into the big house could be brilliant if they do it well.

It's great to see her back but as an actor, I would be embarrassed to act out the things they give her and the actor who plays Jimmy. I know soaps have their silly comedic moments but everything to do with Nicola and Jimmy is essentially plots for a sitcom about a dysfunctional couple. Watching Nicola break into her old house was like a plot from an I Love Lucy episode. But unlike I Love Lucy, this was not funny. They should actually give them serious storylines. Nicola Wheeler was great when Nicola had her miscarriage and the revelation of early menopause.

I do like the way they made it even easier for her to return by simply reusing a kneeco/Jimeh storyline from before she left.
ETA : The longer the teflon bike stays away the better as far as I'm concerned. They'll simply repeat all of her storylines too because her character hasn't developed one iota in all the time she's been on the cast. |

tbh, i really hate Nicola. She and Jimmy don’t seem right together, they do have their funny moments but no. i preferred Jimmy with Sadie, and maybe Kelly. Nicola should had just stayed away she could take that horrible wasteful character Bernice with her too aswell as Jai and Priya.
