I have a BT YouView box that I am continuing to use as a standalone PVR after I ended my TV contract with BT. Over the course of the 20 months I had the TV service from BT this is actually my 3rd box, the previous 2 each got to a point where they would not come out of standby, so they had to be changed and I lost all my recordings!!!! The box I have now has just started to behave strangely and I am wondering if this is the beginning of the end for this box also. I wonder if anyone else has had these problems

1. Box sometimes records both the SD and the HD versions of a programme when it was only set to record the HD programme. This is not too annoying but if the box was set to record a 2nd programme at the same time then this does not get recorded as the box can only record 2 programmes at teh same time, so the 2 it chose to record were the same programme in SD and HD.

2. I had the box set to record Grand Designs on 4+1 HD at 10pm, but instead it recorded it at 9pm on Channel 4 (SD).

3. On Tuesday night it recorded only the last 5 minutes of the final episode of Lewis! Aarrggghhh!

Pretty much all the time I have had this box (approx 9 months now) there have been times when I have been watching a live programme or watching a recorded programme when the sound (and sometimes the picture) disappear for a second. If I am watching a recorded programme and I wind back and play that bit again the problem does not recur so it is not a problem with the recording. I also tried playing back with the ethernet cable to the router unplugged in case it was a blip on the broadband which was causing the problem. That didn't make any difference and I still get the occasional "drop outs."

Any help would be much appreciated.
