I struggle to see where EastEnders is going as a show ATM...
I thought the quality over the summer was fantastic, and there was lots going on, but I feel now everything's just dragging, there seems to be no end point of any storyline and we just get lots of random things going in episodes that rarely ever lead to anything bigger than what they actually are. There's no huge plots, which make other plots, involving dozens of characters, like they're used to be.
For example, we've got the tedious Kim/Vincent stuff, which Denise & Patrick just feature in the background/Dot isn't up to much these days/The Moons and the Branning's are absent/Bobby killing Lucy is a farce now and seems to have no end point/This whole Dean rubbish has gone on so long I no longer care/Shabs & Kush storyline will probably be dragged out for as long as possible/Stacey's key was introduced in March 2014 and we still have no idea where it leads/The Mitchell's just go round in circles and we've seen no development in this whole 'Phil breakdown' stuff. It's all just so pants, and it's so rare we get any development in storylines or characters these days. Just lots of random little stuff happening here there and everywhere. I struggle to see where it's going as a show, and I wonder if 2016 will see the return of some big characters and finally some Fresh, New and EXCITING storylines... |

I also think The Vic is just a mess these days. I really struggle to care for any of the characters working or living there ATM. The Carters, I still find really boring and in my opinion, Elaine is a truly awful and nasty character.

It's been a crap year but 2016 will hopefully be better. I hope they create new interesting characters. I don't want any more returns.

We need a family with history back behind the Vic.

I disagree that the summer was fantastic. The show has gone from being a bit of a joke to a laughing stock.
Let's all join forces to send an innocent man to prison...even then we need to bribe the jury foreman. Let's bring Kathy back from the dead with the lamest excuse ever. Oh, and she can bring Sharon's daddy back with her. Let's ruin Stacey with a pregnancy, oh and how about making it a who's the daddy. Best friend's husband...perfect. Let's have Sharon and Phil's marriage on the rocks...often. TBH Ronnie's revenge plots, a bit of light relief, Honey's return and Stacey's key are fine by me. At least I vaguely understand what's going on for the first time in months. |

They are fabulous in the Vic.
![]() I think mick is a great landlord. Grant was the only other decent one. Alfie was an unmitigated disaster when he leased it from Phil although I did like him when he worked there for Peggy. |

I agree that Mick and Linda are fantastic in the Vic but I feel the Vic lacks a "strong landlady" like Peggy and Bet Lynch (Corrie). Linda is great in the Vic but she doesn't really get involved in the Vic that much. I prefer her over Kat so I hope she stays there for a long time.

It does seem to have lost the bundles of energy and long term vision that DTC initially brought in. I'm still watching and mostly enjoying but it's lost its spark.

It's just so tedious!
The character annoying me most is Ronnie - She thinks she's in Scarface or something. She's no longer believable! But, on a whole, the show is boring me. |

I also I wish they'd make better use of their cast. There's way too many cast members who are given shit storyline and substandard material.
Emmerdale seems to have such a strong cast compared to EastEnders and Corrie. 99% of the characters get lots of decent drama. Compare that to EE, where characters like Donna, Fatboy & Billy, who just sit around and do nothing, but say a few words a month. |

I completely agree Loulabelle, its been downhill since MyLauren and MyCindy were cruelly sacked by disgraced Eastenders boss DLT. How he can even show his smug little face is completely beyond me.
Mick's a decent enough landlord but he needs to stop sniffing around that Ronnie bird, she's a troubling bit of skirt and no mistake. |

It is meandering a bit but I have enjoyed the summer and bits of this autumn. |

I would like to support DTC, I have known him since he was small, but he is floundering at the moment . |

I saw the praise for Ed on here and watched some of their stunt episodes. The posters are clearly a lovely bunch but it didn't seem anything particularly special to be honest.

This past week I've realised that I'm not sure where EE is heading to either since recently the only big storylines seem to be Kathy / Kush / Dean. It's been a while but the Dean/Ronnie is a storyline that isn't interesting me that much, since we know Ronnie won't do anything major to Dean due to the New Year spoilers. It's just going to be Ronnie playing nice and trying to get rid of Dean, but failing.
However, next week could be interesting when
