Really liked the scene between Buster and Lee tonight, I'm interested in Lee's depression SL and glad to see it being focused on again and I really liked Buster tonight wheras I had more been indifferent to him in the past. It was my favorite scene of the episode and I liked the interaction between the pair. It was a great flash of what we could have if Dean was already gone.

I hope we see more of this in the future and after the truth about Dean comes out, Shirley and Buster can apologize to Linda and reconcile with Mick and the family, putting an end to all the spatting.

Buster is a great character, he has so much potential however has been underused. I hope we begin to see more of Buster. Absolutely loved the scene between him and Lee tonight, and I would like to see more. I really hope that Buster and Shirley are developed and they reconnect with the rest of the Carters once Dean has gone, they all make a nice unit, and I think Buster/Shirley/Mick scene tonight was also lovely. It would be brilliant to see some more scenes with the three of them.

Agreed. Buster is a great character and has been underused lately. When he was first announced, I suspected that he would be a thug who was a rival to Phil, but Buster is actually a nice guy who cares about his family. He suspects that Dean is a rapist but he hasn't really said anything about it. I hope Buster has more scenes with the Carters.

I wonder how long it will be until Mick finally calls him 'Dad'... (assuming he will start to move on from Stan)

I agree Ell, I really hope to see Shirl and Buster reconnected with the rest of the Carters, i'm really liking Buster now. I liked the scene with Mick as well and it was good to see him shaking his hand, I thought that showed the first step that he was accepting him.

I liked their scenes together. Buster has always been brilliant with lots of characters. I do think he will be axed soon unfortunately. I hope they extend Karl Howman's contract.

Me too. I think this will begin to happen once the truth about Dean comes out. I am pleased that Mick has accepted Shirley as his mum and is beginning to accept Buster being around too. I really like the dynamic between them at the moment. It's a step in the right direction and their scenes are a joy to watch. I do hope they keep Buster around, and Karl Howman sticks with the show. He works really well with Shirley/Linda Henry, Mick/Danny Dyer, and the other Carters too!

I agree that it is refreshing that Buster is a nice guy and really does care for his family instead of being a Phil-esque thug.

Im not sure that Mick will call Buster dad though. I think due to him not forming a relationship with Sylvie, Shirley has easily filled the shoes of that mother figure but I dont think Mick would want to replace the relationship he had with Stan.

He's a great addition to the Carter family and I hope he intends staying. I was so relieved to see Lee opening up to his granddad tonight, but then he's so easy to talk to.

Buster is a very natural character, I think he is perfect for EastEnders, and the Carters.

It was a shame Buster and Carol never got together. Lindsey Coulson and Karl Howman had electric chemistry but I loved their friendship. I have no idea what will happen to Buster when Dean leaves but I hope he's still part of the Carters

Buster is a great character, and whilst I WAS warming to Lee, he behaved like an absolute tw*t tonight. Shirley hasn't done much wrong IMO, and has always been there for her grandchildren. Pathetic. Even annoying Nancy has been much more tolerable lately.

She hasn't been there for her grandkids and called their mother a whore

I'm sure she's tried to make amends with them at certain times... I'm not saying Shirley is a saint, but she's acted quite naturally IMO. Obviously, she's going to take her sons side and think Linda is lying.

I can see why Lee feels how he does, Linda is his mother and he feels defensive of her and after the way Shirley behaved to her he saw Mick associating with her as betraying his mother. She hasnt always been there for her grandchildren either. I know why Shirley has defended Dean but from Lee's point of view it looks like a bad choice.

I'm not sure it was a great scene, but I certainly don't loathe Buster or Lee the same way I do almost every other character. Fair do's.

I love Buster but can't stand Lee. The drunk scene with Lee at the party was like something out of a school play. It just consisted of the guy playing Lee shouting and pulling stupid faces. Karl Howman, however, is a class act. I hope stays for good.

Buster could be a really wonderful character.

Like Mick he is as hard as nails but also seems a fundamentally decent bloke with a good heart (despite his spells inside).

The cafe scene with Lee was beautifully acted by Karl.

What a change from the endless snarling of the Plutonium Potato (who would no doubt have ordered the young Carter to 'man up' or other such primitive macho bullshit).

Buster is always polite and affable to everyone unless crossed - and bring something rather 'old school' to the square.

Give him far more to do DTC.

I agree

I like that Buster doesnt fit the mould and is different and really cares about his family, as the scene with Lee showed.

I would take scenes like that over the Philth beating people up anyday.
