Some disappointing comments for Jade, though nothing too terrible. Still, could she be in trouble tonight?

Back to the groups for our next performance. Taking on a Masketta Fall song, it's our eight-piece Stereo Kicks.

Boys, you absolutely KILLED that! I'm so excited to work with you boys because you actually have loads of incredible sounds, individually and in various combinations. You're so versatile, and I can't wait to show you off so much more!

Stereo Kicks - Hi guys! I can see what your mentor was trying to do and I applaud him. The song was risky, and you delivered with the vocals definitely. I can see the different approach Jacka is taking you, but I personally wasn't in love with the song at times. I am not sure if the rock aspect fits you but as the song went on, it definitely improved, and I think it was a worthy first performance.

Jacka, wherever you are, you are slaying it tonight!

First time I heard that song and it's already in my head.

Stereo Kicks :- Okay guys this is such a dramatic change from where you were on the show. It is so hard for a group of 8 to all stand out. The chorus was very poppy and then we had the rock verses. It was a great song to pick to help you stand out, and a unique pop group. For a first show, that was very impressive! Well Done. Im impressed!

On a side note, as the voices of the boys are so different i would be interested with a group like this to know who was singing what. it would help me identify the dynamics of the song better and if it would work

Some doubts from Naruto there, but otherwise a solid set of comments for Stereo Kicks.

Let's see if Jack Walton can top that performance with a song from an act currently in NTA.

Jack Walton - Wow! That was truly great Jack! The song was perfect. We have to remember the theme is Launch Party, and I can definitely see you producing and singing songs like this one. I think the vocals were flawless and the performance aspect was superb. This song is just to show what direction I am taking you, I have got a lot more in store for you.

Jack Walton

Jack, not quite the perfect match I was hoping for tonight. There's an element of your style which was missing for me, but you definitely have something in you. I think that as soon as you have your sound perfected you'll be spot on.

Jack Walton :- For me Jack you are a great acoustic artist. You thrive with a guitar, and when the performance is based on the musicality of the song. Even though this song was entitled stripped back, i was still wanting more from it. You could have taken the song further., with a more acoustic performance style. This is a song which focuses more on the beat rather than the voice of the artist, and in places i felt you were lost in the performance. Your a great story teller, and I think this leant towards more of an indulgent mess tbh

The theme is uptempo, launch party. I didn't want him to go acoustic for that reason.

Not quite the comments Jack and his mentor were hoping for, probably. Will the public give him a second chance or will he have to attempt securing his own in the sing-off?

Tonight's penultimate performance will be brought to you by Daniel DeBourg, enjoy!

Daniel, this surprised me because I wasn't expecting it to be so good! I really enjoyed this performance, it felt exactly how I wanted your performance tonight to feel! Great work!

Daniel DeBourg - Not as uptempo as I would have liked, but still a good effort. I am honestly not too sure on the vocals and song choice. As a launch song, I can't see what direction your mentor will take you. It seemed to not really go anywhere, and there wasn't really a performance aspect. For me, it didn't work unfortunately.

Daniel:- When I saw you in this competition I was thrilled. I think of any X Factor series, you were mentored the worst, and the potential was never met! You are a cool edgy and current artist! This Jamie Woon is an Urban track with a fantastic beat which centres on thrilling soulful connotations. It allowed you to bring your performance skills, while focusing on the artist that you will be! For me out of all the contestants you could make a fantastic album of work, as you have such a unique vocal! Its all about the right song choice, and highlighting that artistry.

British Urban is the direction we are going in

Mixed comments for Daniel there, with Naruto not being overly convinced by the performance. Do the public agree with him?

Time for the final performance of the night. Hoping to blow the roof off, it's Lauren Platt!

Lauren Platt - A great end to the shows! I loved it, and I think you and your mentor delivered really well. The song was a great platform and the vocals stood out perfectly. Song choice was a really good one and I hope that your mentor continues along this track with you.

Lauren! A fab performance to end the night! You're definitely going in the right direction with a performance like this and I'm super excited to see what else your mentor can give us in the coming weeks. It's going to be so close tonight!!

No he could still of brought a more acoustic element to the performance imo, the vocals sounded to derived from the song, a little more stripped back but still with an uptempo feel

Lauren :- My issue with you on X Factor was that I ever believed you had the charisma to carry off a high energy performance. This is a good direction for you. I always thought you suited this sort of song style. Now you don;t have the rockier vocal of beatrice, however overall it was a good song choice, which moved you away from what you were being portrayed as before. Good start.

And with some more great comments, the show comes to a close. What a night it's been, both the mentors and the acts totally brought their A-game tonight!

Still, one act will be leaving us tonight. Which one that will be is up to the DS public and the judges, as the former will decide which two acts will be at the mercy of the judges in the sing-off. Vote to save your favourites, they will need every vote they can get considering the standard of tonight's show.

Here's a recap of the performances:

To vote, all you have to do is send me your personal ranking (8-1 with 8 being your favourite and 1 being your least favourite) of the acts. Anyone can vote, including the judges, who are even allowed to vote for their own acts.

The lines will remain open until 9 PM, giving you an hour to get your votes in. The results should start at 9:15 PM, right after I've revealed a little surprise for you. In the meantime, please discuss the show on this thread.

Great show!

Does anyone else seem to be having problems with their subject bar when sending PMs? I can't type or paste anything into there?

Yeah, I'm having problems too, I wonder if there's a glitch on the site.

Voted! Both groups and Lauren were my Top 3 this week.

For me a good quality overall one of the better openings to these games. In my mind there are two artists who were off weaker standard than the rest
