Invasion Earth 2150 is on at 12:40 next Saturday.

I haven't seen these films in years but I really do love them. They send my nostalgiaometer off the scale.

I think the 2nd one is better.

This is virtually a straight copy of the original Dr Who and Daleks tv episodes in 2nd ever adventure in 1963, as now shown on horror channel from time to time.

Visually, the film is better of course eg colour, fullscreen etc, but the daleks killing by puffing steam was pathetic compared with the classic 'negative' effect.

This was a condition imposed by the film censors saying the 'negative' effect was too scary for children.

In terms of content and atmosphere the tv series was far superior, and will always remain a classic.

Also nostalgic about these films as they were often shown on a Saturday morning when I was a pre fan kid. Cushing was great. Prefer the TV versions by a street, or three, but the second film is the best, I think. Nice to see a young, cool Ray Brooks, Madoc being delightfully shifty and, heck, it's got the legend that is the mighty Cribbins in it!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone unable to spell Dalek before.

The Darleks are much better than the Daleks. Especially Darvoss, he's the bomb.

I've never made it through one of those films, the only TV Doctor Who I can say that about. For some reason I find them incredibly boring. Actually it strikes me that they are a good example of what Doctor Who would have been like if it had actually been a children's show.

You'd be surprised at how often I've seen Dalek misspelled. Especially on a Who forum. But the oddest thing was when Destiny of the Daleks was repeated in the summer of 1980. I was on a family holiday in North Wales and the local tv announcer said, "and now Doctor Who faces his old enemies, the Dayleks". Even if you'd never watched the show before I would have thought that everyone had heard the name and would know how to say Daleks.

I may be wrong but I understood that the film makers wanted to fit the Daleks with flame throwers for a more excitingly visual gun effect but this wasn't allowed in a kids film so they went entirely the other way and used fire extinguishers.

Shame they never got round to remaking the chase too. Darleks lol.

Opps, I wasn't on good form yesterday.

Firstly I meant, Daleks.

And secondly, yes I meant the 2nd film is the better one. I got them mixed up.
