Great customer service from O2, poor from EE
Just been to get the new iPhone 6s plus and was told by EE that it was £60 per month and £249 upfront.
We have 3 contracts with them and when I asked if they could budge from that price they said no. I mentioned that o2 and vodaphone had better deals they jut said I'd suggest going to them. Went into o2 and vodaphone who both offered similar deals to each other , O2 offered the 16g handset for £50 upfront then said they would add his friends and family discount that woukd bring the price per month down to £45 per month 10gb data Unlimited calls Unlimited texts Loss, theft and damage insurance. Also when the next iphone is released we can upgrade to that early. I can't believe how easy o2 were to deal with. EE were shocking. They didn't seem interested in offering any deals and when I explained that we had been with them for over 15 years (since days of one 2 one and orange ) they he said he had been a customer aswell as working for them for longer. Very poor customer service from them, O2 however were very good indeed. Never thought I'd use o2 but hey ho. Thankyou o2. Now I jut need to upgrade my other 2 accounts. Goodbye EE |

Don't get used to it. You're a new customer. They're whacking out the great deal to get your custom once they have you in contract if you ever have an issue the last thing you'll receive is 'customer service'.
I was with o2 for 16 years. I had two refresh contracts towards the end. Each time I'd call and pay of the handset and both times the next month I'd get a whacking bill because they'd decided by paying the handset I was terminating the contract and changed me early termination which doesn't apply on refresh. Both times it took 3-4 months to get sorted and get my money back. In the end I had a sim only contract, rolling monthly one. Called for my pac a I'd seen tesco offering a much better deal (I'm still on it now) they offered me a deal with 70% less allowance for 60% more money. (300 mins and 300mb data for £16 - the tesco deal is 1000mins and 1gb for £10). They'll pull out all the stops to get you but don't expect them to offer any decent deals to keep you once your contract is up. |

It is absolutely pointless trying to negotiate on price with a sales adviser in a mobile phone retail store. They have absolutely no move on prices: they physically cannot modify them.
You'll have much better luck over the phone, although it's less likely if you're a new customer. |

Why not go to a third party like buymobiles or mobilephonesdirect? You get much much better deals than going straight to EE. eg on MPD 64GB iPhone 6s. £13 upfront then £45 a month for 10GB and obviously unltd text/calls.
Your crackers going straight to EE. |

It's bizarre calling this customer service. A price is NOT customer service. As has been said already, just go online for a good deal.

I was thinking that.
In any case, EE's vastly superior network is why EE can command higher prices. You can of course argue that EE is being greedy, which is fine. Just vote with your wallet and look elsewhere. The good customer service will be judged after you've become a customer. I am going to need to visit a Vodafone store soon to try and sort out some issues on my account (it seems to have been set up as a business account and says I'm not the lead account, even though I only have one phone!) so that could be messy. How it gets sorted decides the customer service bit, not the kind lady that got me to sign a contract in the first place! |

I'm considering leaving Three if the 4G is still crap with the activation of the 800 spectrum on the iPhone and going to either VF or EE. Thanks Baz |

I am keeping with Three, and just yesterday experienced almost 90Mbps - which is a first (bar early pre-launch testing).
My experience of Vodafone is more positive than if I'd joined earlier this year. I have reasonable 4G coverage indoors at home, and 3G has also improved markedly too. As it has all around the area. The problem is that I still have some spells of 2G, which of course is as good as turning the phone off. In comparison to Three, it's a lot more of a gamble. Indeed, I'd be inclined to set my phone to 3G/4G only to go without signal at all than drop to 2G. I also don't use my VF for calls or texts AT ALL (despite both being unlimited) so I don't need to worry about 2G for calls and coverage. Realistically, when I get kicked off the One Plan, I can easily afford to then leave Three for a bit and see where they are in 6 or 12 months time. I've pretty much had enough of the joke that is Feel at Home, where I pay nothing but get a poor service. I am happy to pay £3 a day for full, unhindered, access. For roaming, there is no comparison - Vodafone wins by miles! Three can of course redeem itself. It can stop restricting data when roaming. It can release the new InTouch app to allow everyone access to 4G 800 (or work to a way to allow users to configure their 'BYOD' kit instead of having to use one of a handful of Three supplied phones) and we can see that with the remaining EE spectrum, speeds are improving - so going down the SIM only route seems a logical step. You can do 12 months or just 30 days and see how things pan out on a month by month basis. There's no need to stay loyal to any network, as SIM only gives you the freedom. There's also EE too. Clearly the overall leader in the UK for coverage, but quite expensive and limited for roaming. |

I guess if we have EE's speeds and VF's roaming but we can dream lol. I've used Three's FAH in France and not had an issue with it. I can't comment on other countries. My fiancee is also on Three which was a great help when she was in Paris on Friday. I thought I was doing a smart thing earlier last year with Three by jumping off the One Plan before they kicked me off it. I do still get AYCE Talk/Texts/Data for £15.00 but only 4G of tethering which is ok as I very rarely tether. Im still sim only and can leave at anytime. I may jump ship to VF next year if things don't improve with Three as I'm worried when the BT/EE merger is complete, it may be its downfall. Thanks Baz |
