Musically he'd be more at home busking (that's not meant as an insult) or at an open mic night in a pub, he doesn't fit that X Factor world where every bum note is perceived as some kind of crime.”

I tend to agree. Max can sing but he does seem the sort of act you'd see in the local pub on a Friday night with his guitar rather than someone you'd see at The O2 or that you'd buy an album.
I think he got through to the lives on merit but he hasn't really fitted in and looks uncomfortable and out of place

I also find Max painful to watch because he looks like he is in pain when he is singing

He has got a good voice (although I haven't really enjoyed any of his performance so far), but I can't get over his lack of charisma

You sound like a bundle of joy.

I think Che is incredibly talented with a distinctive voice, that would make him recognizable on the radio. Whether he will be successful, I don't know. There is a place for him in the market but male winners never fair well so maybe it would be better if he didn't win. However if it did, he would absolutely deserve to based on his talent. I like his VT's and I don't understand this boring tag, unlike Max who I do find boring with a very average voice.

The only ones left in the competition who deserve to win are Che, Louisa and Fourth Impact. I think all three have star quality.

How he was chosen over Jennifer is beyond me.

Dull, dull, dull.

I don't think he was chosen over Jennifer, I think Bupsi was. I don't think Simon cares about any of his acts and will be happy once they are all eliminated! Personally I think Max has a good voice and if he was allowed to choose his own songs would be much better. I hope he doesn't get eliminated without getting a chance to do a sing off song of his own choice.

BIB - Definitely.

Jenifer and Anton were the stand out acts from the overs going into JH. However, a combination of Jenifer's rather bizarre song choice and Simon seemingly obsessed with Bupsi meant that she got sidelined.
Having Bupsi and Anton in the lives, I think Simon wanted someone completely different so as not to split their votes and so it was a straight choice between Max and Ebru and Max was far stronger at JH imo

Paddy power have him at 6/4 closely followed by Mason at 2/1.

Will be interested how the odds change during the show.

Max just slightly ahead but it looks like these two will be in the sing off tonight if the bookies odds reflect the public vote. It will be interesting to see who the judges keep in, I think they will save Mason as he is more controversial than dull Max!

Aw I kinda want Max to stay... Hopefully if he's in the sing off, he'll smash it. I do agree he is much better at choosing his own songs!!! Everything I loved about his voice is now gone since entering the live shows. :<( hope he gets one more chance.

Max is outstandingly average. He was awful last night, I couldn't believe all the judges praised him. They must be trying to subtly bus him by killing him with lukewarm praise to discourage votes.

I had to laugh when Cowell blurted out "he sang that for his girlfriend". He just couldn't bear for there to be no big story attached to the song choice.

He is so forgettable, no-one will even remember he was in the show by the time it comes to the final!

I honestly think Simon chose Max because he wants a Girl to win. Jennifer was a strong singer and seemed to have a lot of fans so I suspect she would have been more of a threat to the likes of Lauren and Louisa than Max who isn't the most exciting performer

I like his voice but the songs for him have been woeful

By listening to that performance, you've never heard the song. These upstarts seem to think they can stray from a tune that took a far better songwriter hours/months to compose, with a variation of their own immediate concoction, returning vaguely to the original perhaps 2.5 lines later....

I expect he's bottom but even if he isn't there's no way he gets through this. Goodbye, you horribly average man.

Bookies got it right this week!

Will post new odds for next week once they are out after the show!

That deserves a "says more about you than it does about him". Personally, I liked his voice and think he would have been better in the sing-off than the other two. I'm only interested in the voice, not the perceived personality.

Even a week ago my annoyance at him as an act was at its boiling point already. I mean namechecking Eva Cassidy? I don't get why they wouldn't admit he was ripping off Brother Iz, not Eva Cassidy. And doing pretty much EXACTLY what Iz did... thus not reinventing ANYTHING in the least. Blech.

Glad he went to be honest, rubbish song, and a paper bag had more personality.

Don't look at my X Factor performance from Sat. Check out my cover of what I wanted/should've done here:

Interesting tweet from Max. Yet again Max was let down by Simon's awful song choice - bland song that no-one has ever heard of. Certain contestants have definitely been favoured on this show. Maybe I'm being cynical but it's almost like they didn't want Max for the lives ...

They made him more boring by giving him forgettable songs he clearly didn't want to sing by the evidence of his last tweet.

I wouldn't buy his music ,not a fan, but don't get why people are attacking him for his personality. His girlfriend is beautiful (lucky him) so it wasn't a problem there.. maybe he's just not suited to be a recording singer

Matt is a good musician, has great qualifications in song writing etc but I don't think that song will get any positive reaction from XF TV audience.
