Instead he gets a 6 and three 8's?!

Indeed other contestants tonight were mentioned by the Judges for a mistake or two here and there, I believe Darcy mentioned something Georgia did wrong, and yet she got a 9 and three 10's! I mean even Katie and Anton got higher marks for an ok rumba.

So are they sabotaging him or are they just, as per normal, inconsistent with their scores? I don't know, but it is worrying if they feel they need to play with the Judges scoring to add drama or bring down a contestant. I am just concerned they may be laying the groundwork for a 'shock' bottom two tomorrow night.”

Not sabotage but exactly the opposite. The best way to win the pity vote is when the judges lay into a contestant. Why do you think the comedy acts last so long? Because they're mauled every week by the judges (Jeremy seems to be the only exception, they criticize his technique - or lack of - but they tell him he's a "joy to watch" or something along those lines).

On another note, I'm seeing history repeat itself, the curse of Aliona versus The Northern Girl. Harry Judd was very easy on the eye, a top lovely fella who did some lovely ballroom dances and some entirely forgettable Latin (what was that Salsa?). Chelsee improved, improved, and improved. Her QS with Pasha is the best this programme ever produced dare I say. The Shrek Jive was just adorable! But no, that was the year of Harry Judd. I liked Harry but was a bit heartbroken for her and Pasha.
And that is happening again.

I'm neither here nor there with Jay, neither a fan nor a hater, just neutral. He did one brilliant dance that left me longing for more, but this "more", unfortunately never came.

Thats how I feel...but I'm happy with G& G getting 2nd place. They know how it works too.

On current form I wouldn't put him in the final four but recognise people find him cute and on the basis of his jive will vote for him no matter what.

I like Georgia though and I'm very pleased to see her do so well . I wasn't convinced on her making the finale but after tonight I'm sure that she'll be there; at least I hope so. She's a very good dancer but Jay imo is by far the best dancer this series.

Well it is your opinion but that does not make it the truth. I think overall personality and likeability are winning factors and despite a handfull of people saying otherwise it seems that Jay has the likeability factor. Georgia too has come out of her shell and is imo coming across much better than she did at first.
I am sure there are some that do like Jay for how he looks but then there are many who probably like Georgia for the same reasons.................lets face it she is gorgeous.
Swings and roundabouts really, I would like Jay to win as he is my no 1 but Georgia would be fine by me too, in fact I do not really worry too much who wins as long as my favs are there until the end.

But as much as many do find him attractive (as well as his relationship with Aliona) I think liking his personality is what is making him SO popular as opposed to looks. I think because hes nervous/appears under-confident people are finding that quite adorable and they think he is a lovely person. (thats the vibe I'm getting anyway)”

I agree.

Perhaps after that Jive, but he has been slipping down the ranks a bit.

Peter has outscored him for the last two weeks, while Georgia has even outscored him for the last three weeks.

On current form I would put him in about 4th place (on dancing ability, obviously he is still the mega favourite for the win ).

Still, many cute guys have won Strictly without being the best dancer in their series, so what's new about that?

Jay should have a cheerful dance soon and that will allow him show his great personality that Craig is looking for. Apart from the small (and harshly marked) error Jay was marvelous tonight

The audience is being manipulated - some couples get great songs and wardrobe (e.g. Georgia and Katie)- others get awful songs/wardrobe (Kellie). Jay should have been in tails tonight. Peter was not impressive tonite - his dance was stumpy - and he gets 9s!!!! - Jaymakes one error and gets a 6!!??

Not sure why you quote me but....okay.

BIB is your opinion and you're entitled to it, as the people who didn't find him marvellous are allowed their opinions too.

Not naming names but I have read a comment from one poster saying they would vote
for him if he just came out and sat down down, another wrote they would vote if he "fell on his bum".

I'm not sure that Jay can do cheerful. The straight-faced jive worked for him but I don't see any joy in his dancing, sadly. Technically superb but lacking in any kind of feeling, it's a shame.

Is 'him' is Jay or Jeremy, please?

As someone else has pointed out Jay lacks expression and in hold he is not particularly good. Out of hold he is technically the best - and there's that jive. But he focuses too much and puts too much effort into the technical aspects. He is not quite present in the music and not quite present with his partner when he is in hold. Consequently he is susceptible to big errors. He showed rapid progress up to the jive. But since then his level has dropped and has flat-lined. He doesn't seem to have the personality to take it to the next level. Give him a technical challenge that doesn't require hold and he can be brilliant. But he has reached his limit it seems.

Sorry-careless use of pronouns-I almost overlooked that the poster I responded to mentioned Jeremy.I was referring to comments about Jay.

Gotcha! I was just trying to sort out an unfairness in my own brain. With the not-really-a-contender dancers, if I was really really keen on them for non-Strictly reasons, I probably would vote for them if they ended up on their bum, out of dopey-headed kindness, but would be much more firm about the real contenders if they up-ended (even if supporting them)

I'm a big fan of Georgia, have been since the beginning. She gets better.week after week, and her personality shines through. I don't believe in the silly conspiracy theories and I wonder if anyone realises that millions of people watch Strictly? Not all of them by any means know or follow Jay, in fact more people watched.Georgia in Corrie I suspect. So that puts the kibosh on the theory that Jay will win because of his fans! Peter Andre has a massive fan base, I remember forum members stating categorically that it was fixed for him to win!

I think Georgia has a very good chance of growing on the public, if she keeps on improving at the rate she is, she'll definitely be in the final.

And Georgia wouldn't be half as popular if she looked like Ann Widdicombe. Looks and personality comes into it for all contestants but it's absurd to say a technically excellent dancer (Jay) is mainly getting votes because of his looks or because someone wants to feel his bum.

Georgia has really impressed me these last few shows and very much deserves the scores she's getting. I think her fanbase will grow over the weeks as other Strictly fans lose their favourites and turn their attentions to the remaining dancers. I hope she gets to the final and it wouldn't annoy me if she won. Jay is pretty much a sure thing for the final... but I wouldn't bet the house on him actually winning at the moment. I'd love to see Anita in the final too and I'm torn over my fourth choice between Helen and Kellie because neither has really wowed me these last few dances. I don't think any of the other remaining contestants are good enough to make the final, despite Jeremy being ridiculously entertaining and Jamelia improving. Peter is this year's Chris Hollins - Mediocre, overmarked and inexplicably popular.
Shappy
15-11-2015
Is Peter Andre that popular? He's scored highly the past few weeks so we don't know how large his public vote is.

(I loved Chris Hollins - he showed joy in his dancing.)
