I'm with you on that. I know some people can distance themselves from their favourite and vote for who dances the best on the night but I just can't. The only time I ever vote in these types of shows is when I get really captivated by a contestant. There is something about Jay that draws me and I don't get that feeling with any of the others. If, gor example, Georgia or Anita make the final and have great dances and go on to win I will be happy I would love Jay to win obviously but what I really want is for him to enjoy his time and to see him dancing as many dances as possible. If he wins the glitterball in the end, well that would just be the cherry on top of an already delicious dessert

He is robotic and if he wasn't cute looking, tall and able to do the wobbly lower lip thing when he messes up he'd have been gone .
Here's the god honest truth in a nut shell , like it or not .Put his dancing onto a short plain looking older man or woman, danced precisely in the way jay has done them and he/she would be toast and ridiculed over every gaff . That's a fact . Jay looks lost and cute and everyone rushes to reassure him he really was fantastic (when he wasn't) and his disasters were mere blips . It's the weirdest thing I've seen in some time, infantalizing a grown man, deifying him for dancing one decent dance and a few other ok ones with huge errors ,claiming he has a great personality when all we've seen has been dullness .”

Re your BIB. I would hardly call it the gods honest truth, it's your opinion. Week after week the judges say how technically great he is. I doubt that would change if it was a different body. The same could be said about some of the others that get overmarked week after week, put their dance on any plain looking older man/woman and they wouldn't get the marks they get.

Your distaste for Jay is clear and that is fine, but, judging by the tone of your post, it's as subjective a view as any other.

The fact is - and this really is a fact because we're talking about an art form here - we can't help but be subjective; the appreciation of art IS and always will be subjective; it's not quantifiable; it's all about how it makes you FEEL and levels and comparisons of competence are only part of the story. For me Jay's jive was the best dance I've ever seen on SCD (and I've watched it since Series 1), not just because of its technical excellence but because, for me, the hairs on the back of the neck quotient went off the scale. Even in his other less successful dances, there's something about the way he moves and, indeed, about that very lack of facial expression that you and others so clearly deplore, that chimes with me. I can't explain it because......it's subjective . I should point out that it's nothing to do with my ovaries - they're long defunct. ”

It does make me smile when I see someone who is obviously biased chastising others for their lack of objectivity.

But that is the nature of this forum. We are blind to the planks in our own eyes whilst the splinters in those of others stick out like Jay's thumb (apparently).

Watching Georgia grinning in an earlier routine,I thought 'Jill Ha'penny's younger, cuter sister'

(P.S. not a criticism of either of them)

Georgia... It's her almost contagious enjoyment that makes me like her, plus she's good, plus Giovanni

I'm kind of enjoying their honesty too. On ITT no one is ever competitive, or rather they weren't until Gio unveiled his Born to Win tattoo

I didn't know who Jay was but thought in the first show how sweet and modest he is and he can dance.

I said to my husband that I thought he may well win. He has been my favourite all along and I would love to see him win. I don't agree that he has only had one good dance. I loved his jive but I also thought his argentine tango was good and his dance on Saturday was beautiful and full of emotion. He stumbled which was unfortunate but it's live tv. It didn't detract from the dance that much for me.

I'd be happy though if Georgia wins as she is a very good dancer and I like her. I'd also be happy if Anita won. In fact the only one I really don't want to win is Kellie.

Oh and I don't fancy Jay - I thought he was quite good looking with long hair but don't like his hair short at all

Jill was gorgeous! My favourite contestant ever and no amount of ovaries or otherwise will make Jay (or anyone else) more of a favourite of mine than her. She was exquisite!

I think Jay should win quite easily the best in the competition, The judges know it, everyone knows it. Wether he does is down to your own opinions.

I'd say its the complete opposite of what you just said - he is a good dancer but the best in the competition? That is purely a subjective opinion and is as far removed from a 'fact' as your claim that everyone knows it is. I have my opinion on who the best has been so far just as everyone else does, but it would be ridiculous to push forward that opinion as fact, never mind state that the entire population is in agreement with it!

Him winning the competition is actually far more closer to fact than your first claim.

Maybe not. But she certainly isn't a nice person (allegedly). I work in TV and her reputation precedes her...

In fairness, I've never worked with her. But I know several who have and no-one seems to have anything positive to say about the experience, so it's probably best left there.
