Gatiss for Showrunner
After the best episode in many years Gatiss deserves the job of show runner. No one else comes close in terms of episode quality (including Moffat and RTD).

Absolutely not. You're insane. He's written one good episode out of I don't know how many.
Fan does NOT necessarily equal good writer - when will people realise this!!?!?!?!? |

Are you joking? The whole episode ended up a pale space rip-off of Moffat's "corner of your eye" concept, with no real resolution, and an ending only an 8-year-old could find convincing.

no thanks
PC/jenna were good, the script decent..........but Gatiss would make a lousy showrunner imo. |

Gatiss hasn't made one good episode. The only one which even comes close is Cold War and the main attraction in that is the return of the Ice Warriors.

Fan does NOT necessarily equal good writer - when will people realise this!!?!?!?!? So much hostility over people liking something others don't. Do some of you really feel that threatened by people enjoying an episode of Doctor Who? |

Tonight was bad. Gatiss has written two good episodes in my opinion - The Unquiet Dead and The Crimson Horror. The rest have been forgettable and peak at average. Certainly not an episode history I would want a potential show runner to have.

I think he's to busy to take on the job, he does many different things, but if I had the choice of a series 10 done by Gatiss or Moffat then I would go with Gatiss in a heart beat.
Crimson Horror was the best episode of S7 imo. |

Gatiss had "The Unquiet Dead." That's it. Everything else he's written has been geometrically worse than the last. This...is a new low. Capaldi deserves better than this. Gatiss and Moffat should just do Sherlock and leave Doctor Who to someone new. |

LOL!!!
The funny thing is, a lot of 'casual' fans DO believe Gattis is one of the best writers. My assumption is that it's mainly because of his relative fame and visibility compared to the other writers and the affection he's accumulated from that. He is a terrible writer and I honestly say that with no malice. I always think he seems like a nice guy to know: interesting, passionate about what he does, knowledgeable, personable... I like him and would like him to be a good writer... but he isn't. At this point I just accept it. He'll be there come what may. He may even be the next showrunner, who knows. Just go into his episodes with low expectations. |

Only if his own stories are limited to one or two per series.
As he seems to be doing a decent job with Sherlock as a co-showrunner. |

You have GOT to be kidding. This was hands down the worst f'ing episode of Doctor Who I've seen in years. Incoherent, inconsistent and totally nonsensical. This is 1986 bad. All that's missing is a set of twins...we got the chop-ending, just like poor old Colin.

Yeah but Moffat can't admit that hes been pumped dry as a showrunner and his arcs aren't as innovative like Series 5, which I loved imo and Series 6

Anyone who says even one of Gattis's episodes are rubbish is homophobic.
Especially this one. |

In any case, if Gatiss wanted to be producer of Dr Who, there likely would have been rumours to that end for years and there haven't been, ergo I don't believe he does. |

It was the best episode partly because all the others were sub-par.
Still, it gives hope that the series can now move onwards and upwards. Save the best for last. |
