I think after this week, her next big week in the US will be when her TV special airs in Dec.

77k copies sold on Monday, giving her a 4 day total of 615k. She's sailing past Oasis' official record and, hopefully, their apparent 7 day total (764k) just so Noel can't claim the high ground on this one

Apparently '25' is outselling the rest of the Top 600 albums in the UK albums chart combined!

Just by way of contrast - less than 13k copies sold so far in Japan, one of the biggest music markets in the World!

While everyone is expecting a massive sales drop off in coming weeks I've learned never to underestimate Adele. I can remember Lady Gaga fans saying Adele would never match the sales of 21! and that the next album would flop lol

Adele's appeal is so cross market that almost everyone who is a fan of music likes her. I think sales will stay strong well into 2016. We haven't actually seen an artist of Adele's global reach since the superstars of 1970s. She is pretty much a one off in modern times. Adele is already a legend, only Beyonce matches her out of all the current generation of musical artists.

Why does Beyonce 'match her'? IIRC '21' outsold Beyonce's last 5 album sales combined. At this moment in time, NO-ONE matches Adele for popularity. That is the only objective conclusion, the rest is wholly based on subjective reasons.

I mean, can I can say Ray Lamontagne matches her just becauseI love the bloke's music? Err, not really...

I'm a big Beyonce fan but even I can admit that her star has faded somewhat in recent years and I don't think the 'Beyonce' album did anything with casual listeners to help it.

lol Beyonce? What ... no.

Nobody matches her right now.

“Official: Adele Breaks *NSYNC's Single-Week U.S. Album Sales Record

25' has already sold at least 2.433 million in slightly more than three days.

It’s confirmed. Adele’s 25 has broken the single-week U.S. album sales record, according to Nielson Music.

After processing the first sales reports from Monday, Nov. 23, the album has already sold at least 2,433,000 in pure album sales in slightly more than three days. That sum beats the single-week record for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991, set by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, when it debuted with 2,416,000 in the week ending March 26, 2000.”

Beyoncé is a strange case because she's managed to cultivate a sort of personal celebrity and almost personality cult but it's not backed up by sales or a load hit singles.

I guess by that measure then when Kim Kardashian releases a single she's on the same level as Adele? lol

Because Beyonce doesn't sell big and have hit records often, she can easily fade fast. Look at her staying power from the last album she released.

I do find it odd that Adele's dream colab would be Beyonce. Wonder what that would sound like.

It's easy to sell albums these days when they take into account youtube views, spotify streams etc etc I'll love to know how many physical albums she's sold. Probably about 10k.

keep up. The spotify controversy has passed you be then - the album isn't on it. And they don't count Youtube views on albums

If it's easy to sell them these days how come only one person is doing?

Wednesday, Billboard cited “insiders” who relayed that “Sony is projecting first-week CD sales of 1.5 million” which could pair with about 1 million in digital sales, 900,000 at Apple. iTunes has taken 450,000 digital preorders, while Amazon has pre-sold 100,000 physical and digital copies. That puts 25 in the realm of 2.5 million copies—just over the record-setting 2.415 million copies NSYNC’s No Strings Attached sold back in March 2000, before the digital music revolution destroyed the foundation of physical sales.

So they have projected CD sales of 1.5 million. I think the first day vinyl sales were 14,000 and of course that could have risen steadily over the week but that's your number.

And to think that prior to 2004, albums were bought on CD, vinyl, cassette tape. Nowadays invisible mp3 files count as "albums" so if we really want to look at what has sold, she hasn't beaten N SYNC or Oasis on physical sales.

Is that so? Well I congratulate her for knocking Dido off her pirch to become the Queen of Granny Pop.

No, she's definitely sold more than NSYNC because she has sold MP3 files. That you don't recognise download sales unlike practically every (if not every single) country's music certification company in the world doesn't mean it isn't a sale.

so in summary, if Adele sells Cd's it's just granny's slipping them into the trolley at Tesco (today's Granny's being the generation that made the Beatles happen btw), and if she sells downloads it aint legit cos they're "invisible files".

I don't think people will be happy unless Adele's fans press their own vinyl and scratch the grooves in by hand with a compass to prove their commitment

Man your little crusade is a laughing joke, nobody here is taking you seriously and you don't dictate the rules. An Album is a body of work, it's no less just because it's not on a physical object.

The idiocy is astounding.

Haha, us wrestling fans are well versed in Hazy's myopic delusions. I don't post on that part of the forum any more so good to see he's brought his insanity over to music.

Projections now have 25 to top 800k in the UK. How sweet is that going to be? Clear all doubts about who sold the most.

And in the states.

Adele's success has been extraordinary. Usually albums tend to sell really well on Fridays and then over the weekend, but tail off dramatically between Monday to Thursday.

In Adele's case, whilst the rate of sales each day has decreased the fact that 25 was still selling 66k yesterday speaks volumes. Most top 5 albums released in 2015 didn't even sell 66k in a month.

Really hope 25 sells over 800k in the UK. It's nevertheless an incredible achievement in an era of hideous album sales. Not putting the album on Spotify could actually be a really good decision.

Chances are once the album is put on Spotify, people will just start streaming the songs so that they don't have to go to all that trouble of getting the cd, putting it in the cd player and pressing play. Too much effort for the young generation.

So shes going to get biggest first week sales since records began in The US, The UK and also world wide.
In Todays climate of low album sales as well...astonishing.

Why don't you FMKK? Is it because all those things i said about wrestling for all those months turned out to be true and now people have tuned out in droves to the tune of 1.2 million since April this year? I was right wasn't I? But you wont admit that just like you and the people here wont admit I am right about this thread. It's fine though. I get it.

Not really the place for this, but basically Hazy would post these massive essays filled with such obvious self-contradiction that it was hard to believe that he wasn't just deliberately looking for a reaction.
