I thought i would update my Vodafone package as I was paying £13.50 a month for 750MB data, 300 minutes and unlimited text and I saw that one was available for 50p more that offered 2GB of data and 600Minutes of calls and unlimited text. Ok it is a 4g package and I don't have 4g, but it will fall back to 3g and 50p more a month it seems fine.

This is the info they put on my account about it, it could be confusing to some, I had to think a minute about it.
It is a 1GB data package, but they doubled it for 12 months to 2GB, i doubt i will use 1, but it is there.

I been thinking of moving providers and did look at Sainsburys mobile until they decided to shut it down, Vodafone is the best signal wise around here. So it would have to be Vodafone based. Still happy with this package, not the cheapest around for what I get, but at least I know it is reliable.

Just hope the phone keeps going now for a couple more years

What's worse is that fact that they say it may take up to 72 hours for the data to update. You could easily go over your allowance in 3 days.

There doesn't seem to be many Vodafone MVNO's left, but Talkmobile is doing 2GB of data, 3000 minutes and 5000 texts for £10 a month

I know, it takes ages for them to update even on their app.

I did have a go at them a few months back because their app is useless. I got so many free vodafone to vodafone minutes, but it is all mashed into one thing on their app, so where I thought I had minutes left for normal use I did not, it was for Vodafone to Vodafone only and ended up going over my limited, cost me £50 and at the time I was on the sick. i had a go at them and they knocked the bill down. I would have left there and then if they did not.

I did see the Talkmobile offer, but it is part of Talk Talk/Carphone warehouse, one company I avoid, but thanks anyway.

I did for about 2 mins think about upgrading to another phone, but then I thought what is the point, my Nexus 4 does what I want and still work fine.
If I update at some point, I will do what I did with the N4 and buy outright.

They're actually a subsidiary of Vodafone nowadays. CPW sold them on a few years back.

You learn something new every day. So Vodafone is doing with Talkmobile what O2 do with Giff Gaff.

Have you re-tested each of the networks as cornerstone means that O2 is likely to be very similar to Vodafone now and EE & Three have both added loads of 4G too.

If you haven't tested it for a while I'd be tempted to re-test. If you have wifi at home you can do wifi calling on EE and then use the mobile data and connection all over.

I tried 3 last year, I got a PAYG sim and stuck it in my phone, but signal was awful at the places I went, like work, my Dads, my mates place and a couple of other mates places. It was fine at home. Not sure if 4G is on three at the moment, not that I have a 4G phone. But i know someone else on 3 and they seem to have the same problem at one of my mates place.

I know a few people on EE and when they phone the audio stutters and splatters as the signal is so low, granted most of these people are still using 3G and EE have updated the network to 4G around here. Anyway EE will belong to Bt soon. Plusnet is the closest I want to get to BT.

O2, a mate of mine is on Giff Gaff and yes the signal seems fine most of the time, the only problem I had a bust up with O2 a few years back and told them to stick their network where the sun don't shine and they will never get another penny out of me.

So I am really stuck with Vodafone, full circle really, I started off on Vodafone years back when we had to pay a half for line rental and half for calls on PAYG.
