Though I applaud and agree with your sentiments, the fact is that it can be seen as extremely insensitive and callous to show something in a TV drama which echoes some horrible event in real life. Cancelling the drama, or not showing part of it, is an acceptance of this. This is what happened with the Robin Hood episode last series, when the beheading scene was omitted.
Which has nothing to do with last Saturday's episode, which had nothing in common at all, in any way whatsoever, with the Paris atrocities, so I've no idea what the OP is going on about.
If you're going to pull all shows with guns in you'll be left with a blank screen for much of the time, interspersed with stuff like Strictly Come Baking, and the Great British Dance Factor.
