The X Factor's falling apart at the seams these days...

Olly Murs giving away the pre arranged result tonight was just indicative of how bad it's become. This show needs a few years rest. It's predictable, tired and tacky. Olly and Caroline are useless as presenters and the judges are just puppets that are fed lines to say. It's had its day.

Oh this is great news and a long time coming. I can finally crack open the champagne that's been on ice for 6 years

I hate how rushed the show is this year. Half the contestants have already been eliminated and I don't think anybody really cares about the ones who are left. It will be the final in a few weeks too.

I agree with the comments here.

- The number of live shows has been condensed far too much. It doesn't have the same feeling of growth and development as previous series.
- The Judges Houses week was a shambles
- It was a mistake to drop the room auditions again, in my opinion
- The chemistry between the judges is unappealing - the panel feels bland and obedient
- Cowell seems to have lost his mojo. His previous role as the "harsh voice of reality" (which came briefly during boot camp) has been replaced by this "cuddly Uncle Simon" persona. It doesn't work for me. I don't want to hear about Squiddly and Diddly ever again thanks Si
- The presentation is embarrassingly amateurish
- The choreography/staging is unremarkable. Brian Friedman is missed

It's shocking how far the show has fallen since its peak.

To be fair they had to cut down the lives this year due to Rugby World Cup coverage

Although that was a total comedy of errors tonight, yes I am looking at you Mr £10.50 Olly Murs

Deal or No Deal fans will get that reference

Actually he appeared on the show twice...1st time he won a penny! !!

Judges houses was excellent this year....after the 1st live show, it should have stopped there and Mr Olly announced the winner then

What a missed opportunity! !!

X-Factor? I stopped watching after last weeks farce. Didn't watch it this weekend and didn't miss its either.

It's a shame that some very talented people are presented to us in this way.

The whole show is a manufactured joke.

I keep reading this kind of topic for few years already.

And I keep reading people announcing to the whole world that they are not watching and that they don't care about that show, that It sucks, that it's fix, etc. etc.

And they still keep coming back every year, to say the same thing, over and over again

Well that certainly doesn't apply to me.

I lasted three weeks into the lives last year - and only then by watching via catch-up and fast forwarding through the b******t to the actual performances.

The artists I do care for - the show most definitely not.

It's become tired, overblown, platitudinous dross.

Olly did not make a mistake. He said, Simon if you send Monica home she is going home or if you send Squiddly and Diddly home Monica is still going home as that's what the director is saying in all our ears. Which option would you like to choose to definitely send Monica home? Taxi, train or bicycle, as she lives quite near?

After careful consideration Simon spontaneously and unpredictably opted to send, iof all people, Monica home and when indeed Caroline tore the envelope from Olly's shaking hands Monica was indeed the name being sent home. What a shocker, two weeks in a row. At least she had an extra three minutes to prepare her exit speech. So in the end no mistakes were made because Monica indeed did go home. I wonder if she is home yet? I hope she had the right money on her for her fare now that she has served her purpose and joined the Ex-Factor.

X Factor needs to be ended OR at least rested for a number of years.
There is nothing new the contestants or producers can show us.

Granted, the show has discovered some big names (Leona, One-Direction and Fleur (to be proven) but the days of this happening are surely dwindling.

I have been a massive fan of XF since it started - and Pop Idol and Popstars before it, but the show has lost its magic.

I do think its slowly killing music. I watched the Beatles programme last week and it reminded me how brilliant music used to be when it was organic, not contrived and creative.

I think its very cringe that they already have the Xmas single already picked out for the winner and they TPTB will EXPECT that it should go to Number 1. And if it doesn't, does that spell the end for the poor sap that won the show?

I remember when songs and artists were allowed time to develop their craft and their fans - When songs were allowed to enter the top 40 and gain momentum. Now it seems if you don't hit number 1 you are doomed!
Who would want to be a music artist these days? Its so volatile!

I hate to do the show down and I honestly believe there isn't a lot they can do to improve it as it stands - People are just bored of the format.

Needs to be rested or put out of its misery.

Not sure why ITV have bought The Voice - Are they looking to this as THE replacement?

The most interesting act, without any doubt whatsoever, in this entire series of 2015 was this one:

The ghost who appeared behind Anton as he sang to Simon and that handsome fellow, in that French Château.

Why wasn't more done to investigate this incident? Nothing else about X Factor, was as interesting as that ghost. Sigh...

To be fair fewer and fewer are, both viewers and contributors to these forums - a few years ago there were real ding dongs on here, at times harsh but always good for a laugh, but it is so quiet now.

Even compared to last year it's noticeable. The forums keep creaking for about 30 minutes after the main show and then it's like a ghost town.

I know people want to blame Nick and Olly and Caroline, but it's ultimatley Simon and Cheryl that has bought the show down.

X Factor is too far gone now to try and revive. Yes, they can continue with 7m ratings for a fee years, but it's gone through too much undoing since 2011.

Also despite what people said, ratings would have fell in 2011 either way, it had reached its peak.

The 2010 panel wasn't that great, and certainly people disliked Danni when she first came into the show, and always had to olay second fiddle to the talentless Cheryl Tweedy.

It's been in decline since 2012, but Simon's ego denies that it is.

And its the arrogance of Cheryl and Simon when they did return to think 'they were the solution to the problem'. They weren't. The whole format is tired.

XF needs to be stripped back to basics for it to ever have a chance to reach the heights it once did.

BUT. It does need resting for a few years.

I don't like to bash people but Cheryl has obviously really benefited from being involved with the show over the years. It seemed like she only launched a single or album when XF was on the telly. Not sure how fruitful her career would have been without the heavy promotion from the show.

I agree with you about Cheryl. Her as a solo artist and Girls Aloud with her in the band got a scandalous amount of publicity and exposure on the X Factor. Everything about her career was rammed down the viewers throats relentlessly.

To be fair the ratings are down more than 10 million from it's peak in 2010 so a lot of people have stopped watching for good.

Yep, same here. I would not buying any music from those who have left - I have not felt that way since the Will Young days tbh (I know it was a different show) but the principal still applies.

I still watch the performances on YouTube. I just have no desire to waste 2 hours of my life on a Saturday night.

If the internet didn't exist, we'd all be sat watching but then we would only have family and friends to verbally take the piss out of the show. I'm just glad we've got YouTube where I can literally watch X Factor in 20 minutes.
