Does anyone know approximately how long this would take, is it an overnight job ?
A while since I did this but I would guess 15 to 20 hours. Make sure you have turned off the automatic power down after three hours without user input.

Just an update. I installed a new 2 TB Seagate video HDD as above and the latest 3.03 firmware and everything seems to be running well so far.
When I plugged my old HDD into a docking station it looked like I could copy all the media files (almost a full 500GB HDD) over to the new HDD in one go rather than having to do them individually. Does anyone know approximately how long this would take, is it an overnight job ?
Providing there is no decryption during the copy then copying to the newly installed drives handles almost 50GB an hour. Keeping the HDRR tuned to a data channel during the process also helps to achieve 50GB an hour as it stops the live buffer being written.

I managed to copy all the media files over to the new HDD and everything seemed to be running ok apart from today when I started to watch something on iplayer. The picture froze after about 30sec and then my T2 rebooted, played for another 30 sec and then rebooted again so I gave up. The only other changes Ive made is to the custom firmware updating to 3.03 from 3.00 I had before. As anyone else had any problems with 3.03 ?
