Why isn't the Big Brother forum moved into "Reality TV" out of series?

Just thinking with the Doctor Who, Im a Celebrity and The Apprentice forums being on the main page with their current series airing why is the Big Brother one still on the main page when there is 4+ weeks before any CBB17 news or rumours start again.

I honestly think that between February - May and September - December the Big Brother forum could do with being moved into the "Reality TV" section as it is not as busy and big as it once was and it clutters the main page up.

I agree with the move suggestion however it should be left in Reality TV section until the CBB17 launch night then moved back again from February until the BB17 launch night.

Hope the mods read these posts and do infact move this forum, it has just been lying dormant for months now and will be for weeks yet.

Maybe because of the huge backlash from BB forum members when they did it at the end of C4 era. When C5 started it was put right back. This forum may not be busy at this time it usually becomes the busiest during BB and moving it will attract a lot of complaints!

I think because it is on three times a year it is probably not worth moving it back and forth.

Back when BB was a big thing I could understand the need for the forum being on the main page.
But nowadays its ratings don't deserve the prominence it receives.

BB isn't the only show which stays on the front page when its off the air, don't see any reason to single it out from the others, its still the biggest single subect forum on DS after alll !

It's still the busiest subforum in DS, even when its on off season.

Other than Big Brother the only TV shows forums that don't move from the main page are Strictly and X Factor which BOTH are far bigger and more relevant than what Big Brother is nowadays.

If Big Brother was still on Channel 4 then yeah ok I would keep it on the main page but since the ratings have drastically reduced on Channel 5 in the last 12 months or so and the show has become a shadow of it's former years it does not deserve or have any reason to be on the main page all year round, considering it only airs for 16 of the 52 weeks in a year.

it's only busy with people creating stupid and unnecessary "Rank your favourite series", "Rank your favourite housemate" etc threads. It was even worse when people created those meaningless "virtual BB" series using forum members.

Not so.

This it the off season, and it's not the busiest subforum now.

The BB forum should be relegated just as the forums for shows that have many more viewers are relegated.

One forum hardly clutters the whole page up!

Are they bigger on DS? That's all that counts.

It might be stupid and unnecessary to you, but if people enjoy it whats the harm?
I dont understand why it matters where the forum is kept, particularly to people who dont even use it.

But there's no correlation between ratings and level of dicussion generated, so ratings are totally irrelevant to this.

DS will organise the forum in a way that generates the most traffic and makes them the most revenue. As this is still a hugely popular forum when the show is on air, the idea of it being demoted is absolutely absurd.

Worth noting as well the origins of this website and part of the reason it became so successful was through BB, so there are likely to be a high proportion of users that are current or former BB viewers.

People are tripping over the clutter of it

Over what time period?

The BB forum is certainly not the most active right now.

I'm pretty sure there is a correlation.

Wasn't it 'demoted' at least once before?

Yes. Not sure if it was put back after posters complained or because a new series came around.

We're only 6 weeks away from having the full press pack and house photos and I'm sure housemate rumours will generate posts well before that.

Right at this moment, only two App threads have updated in the last two days (and perhaps even more tellingly, neither is from the C5 era, let alone BB16 in particular.)

DS can't even sort out the forum's most basic use. Writing a post. The search has not worked for God knows how long. The place has not run smoothly for a few weeks now so I very much doubt they'll move this forum to the Reality TV section (and then back again) two or three times a year.

It's been months, at least - ditto the back posts function - and right at this moment the forum formatting is up the spout.
