I don't think any of us are saying she can't do it

I think it will be great and will probably score 35/36 but it just won't be as good as Georgia's. That's no disgrace, Georgia's is probably in the top 3 charlestons on Strictly ever.

If you're counting the charlestons with mistakes in then yes.

I dont think anyone is saying she cant do it

the question asked was "will it be better than Georgia's and Giovannni's" and most people are saying no, they dont think it will be

It's likely to be more cool and stylish ... like Denise's (VO) .. and maybe even veering into Sophie territory.
No reason why it shouldn't be as good but I think practice time is a little more tricky (pre Blackpool) .. so many time wasting VT's and a group dance too so we'll see.

I think it's a testament to ability when your dance is absolutely incredible - even with minor errors. I'm sure she'll get a chance to do it perfectly in the finals.

I can't see her being that good at the Charleston. She's usually far better in ballroom and can see her struggling to let loose enough for a Charleston. I doubt she'll be in trouble and expect her to be somewhere in the middle of the leader board.

I'm not sure minor is the correct description , it had a stonking great trip in it, I just think she was lucky the judges didn't really see it. But thematically and for content and how well danced it was, even with the mistakes, it was one of the best charlestons. 10s not for me, but for utter spectacle, it was incredible.

But then a lot of my favourite dances only got 9s and some of my most hated dances got 10s, so again what do I know? I often don't like what the judges rave over.

That's what I meant. No-one seems to think it will be better than Georgia's.

I was just in Helen's corner hoping its going to be. Would be a real shock for everyone.

I didn't see a trip, I did see a hesitation on a side-by-side step. Had she taken a stumble, I think that would certainly have ruined the overall effect of the dance.

Well statistically, she doesn't really have anywhere to go. If she doesn't score 40, she doesn't beat it and it's still a bit early for Craig to pull out a 10 paddle.

I don't know if trip is the right description, she seems to turn her ankle or her foot slides from under her but it was very obvious to me at the time as I shouted "oh no" at the tv

I didn't vote since the option "I hope so" wasn't there

True, scorewise. But I would just love her to really go for it and emote the whole feel of that dance and really surprise everyone.

Scorewise is what we're talking about

I genuinely think Helen will have no problem with the characterisation of this dance, it will be full of Betty Boop type faces imo, but she just won't dance it AS WELL AS GEORGIA.

She'll be really good for Helen, scoring probably 35/36 and it will go down a storm in Blackpool, it's just unfortunately, like Jay's jive, comparison means it will always come up just a tad short. And I mean just a tad, there won't be a screaming great chasm. Think it will be better than Peter's though

But when she scores 40, you can come back and laugh and point at us all

I wonder if they might Charleston to Betty Boo - Doin' the Do?

No she won't because Georgia scored 39 and no one this year will score higher than in the Charleston.

I am looking forward to seeing Helen's charleston I think it will be her best dance yet I reckon she will score about 38.

I love that song, thank you. That would be perfect for Helen, so she won't get it

It'll depend very, very much on the choreography, but I'm going to guess not. If she gets a Sophie Ellis-Bextor style (or Ali Bastian style) Charleston, I can see a couple of 10s, but if they try to go ultra high energy and gurny then I can see 9s max. More than willing to be surprised though.

She made 3 fairly minor errors - she missed a 'kick' when she was on her back between Giovannis legs (but then had I just been flung over someone's head I would have missed more than 1 kick), she went out of time/started on the wrong foot/something at a side by side section just after that, but got back onto the rythmn with the next beat.

Then she wobbled backwards when doing the side by side spins at the end - if you watch she ends up about 4 feet behind Giovanni (and looked a teeny bit off balance).

But less mistakes than Peter''s, and overall still a stonkingly fabulous charlseton that was the dance of the night. Deserved to be the top of the leader board, but not 10's (personally), but as they had over marked Peter & Keller they had no option as she thoroughly out danced them both.

Back on topic - I can't see Helen doing a better charleston - though I'm more of a Helen fan than a Georgia fan.

She has a hope in hell of beating georgia with the Charleston, she's too stiff and too technical. At least georgia puts more oomph into her dancing wheras helen to me looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

Oh no! If they went with that for the charleston, it would not go down well with the judges particularly Len. Imagine what he would say.

Helen is someone who always aims to please and upsetting Len would make her get a bit emotional because she would feel that she has done something seriously wrong. When she performed the samba to Adele's "Hello", Len criticised for the lack of samba content and Helen was on edge and rather tense.

Today's the day when they announce the full list of accompanying songs or music to each of the dances. I do wonder what they will give her; it will be really interesting.
