Then she wobbled backwards when doing the side by side spins at the end - if you watch she ends up about 4 feet behind Giovanni (and looked a teeny bit off balance).

But less mistakes than Peter''s, and overall still a stonkingly fabulous charlseton that was the dance of the night. Deserved to be the top of the leader board, but not 10's (personally), but as they had over marked Peter & Keller they had no option as she thoroughly out danced them both.

Back on topic - I can't see Helen doing a better charleston - though I'm more of a Helen fan than a Georgia fan.”

You have a better eye than me. I missed the other two errors you mentioned. I was wondering what Darcey was talking about, as the end turns looked ok to me.

Helen is someone who always aims to please and upsetting Len would make her get a bit emotional because she would feel that she has done something seriously wrong. When she performed the samba to Adele's "Hello", Len criticised for the lack of samba content and Helen was on edge and rather tense.

Today's the day when they announce the full list of accompanying songs or music to each of the dances. I do wonder what they will give her; it will be really interesting.”

I agree, Helen has a high level of emotional intelligence and that means she can take criticism too much to heart.

I think the error with the spins would have been more obvious to the judges, as she was facing directly to the camera (TV audience ) so you have to look at Gio's position on the floor, then see on the floor where Georgia ends up.

It would have been really obvious to the judges as she was side onto them so they could see she 'fell' backwards when spinning.

Have there been any without mistakes? I don't think I've ever seen a flawless dance from any competitior on SCD over the years even the big wow routines all have things which could be improved on.

I do like a nice poll but find it impossible to compare the known and the unknown when it comes down to the nitty gritty of actual scores. Going to have to abstain.

I think it should go well for Helen. Aljaz's routines are always full of charm and she has Blackpool to wow with a very wow-y dance!

I didn't realise the thread title was about 'score'. Assumed 'more popular' with DS. Apologies.

Wouldn't dream of it! Be very happy though!

I've been poking about on Facebook trying to figure out who their choreographer is, but no joy. Bill Deamer has just opened a new London version of Cats, so might now have time. He tends to do my least favourite routines, but they are the ones that seem to impact non-vintage-dance geeks, so with a good song and a flashy routine, I don't doubt that they could get high scores.

Plus, with a ballet background, Helen must've done some Tap, which shares the same roots as Charleston and helps immensely.

I hope not. For reasons I cannot analyse I've grown to dislike her on SCD.

Helen's song choice seems promising. High hopes for her Charleston

No, but it will be a good one. She's got the acting skills but I think she's not as well suited to Charleston as Georgia.

No but I envisage Helen will do the style of Charleston that'll be (even) more up my street.

Georgia's Fosse-style routine with the hats reminded me of Abbey's (but done heaps better). I think Helen's will be more Sophie-sticated.

I had written off Helen's chances until you reminded me of that one.

Jenny Thomas did Daniel's, Jamelia's and Peter's., according to her twitter. Would they bother getting in someone different?

No, I think Helen will be too stiff.

I hope Helen and Aliajz Charleston is a show-stopper as she is a very good dancer and t would be good to see the fun side of her again. It is difficult for her as following on from 2 very good charlestons

Helen's got a great song - I can absolutely see her suiting the style of the Anything Goes stage musical, which I think was all set on a 30s cruise liner with gorgeous 30s clothes - more Fred and G than Fosse, so I think they'll be different enough for Helen not to struggle in the comparison. And Helen's got quite a lot of stage musical experience, I believe, so Blackpool won't throw her. It will be completely different from Georgia's but I think it could be as good now we know the song.

Helen's music and styling will suit her down to a t. This could go really well and have a Charleston with real finese and class. I can't wait to see her costume she's going to be like a Hollywood glamour similar to her foxtrot. I'm really looking forward to it, whether it will top GG I don't know we will have to wait and see

Nice .

I personally can't see it but I'm willing to be convinced. Like you though, I don't think she'll match/outdo Georgia's score either way.

I'm friends with JT on Facebook and she usually posts about her Strictly week (she's choreo'd some of this years Salsas too) - she hasn't mentioned SCD since last Friday when she says she left GG;s camera rehearsal and got on a train to Edinburgh for a dance workshop. This week she's been teaching her regular scheduled classes, so I'm pretty certain this Charleston won't be hers - she definitely did Aljaz & Alison's though, so she has worked with him before.

The other possible is Ryan Francois, Jenny's former partner. He posted pics of him with Gleb and Anita a few days before their Charleston, and their's did seem more his style (I posted a bit about this in the GG Charleston thread) so although he hasn't officially claimed it, I'm sure he did that one (he also did Kimberley and Patrick. for example).

I reckon, being Blackpool, they'll go down the Denise Van Outen/Caroline Flack/SEB route and do a showy number, rather than a Swingy one - so more likely Bill, or that tap dude that choreo'd a pro number this series. I forget his name, but he was on SYTYCD.

I will be glad enough if she finally gets a 9 from Len (yes, even Craig has given her a 9 already).

I can imagine Helen doing brilliant faces and really acting the dance, but I can't imagine her outscoring Georgia.

Someone I think also pointed out they possibly wouldn't want a Charleston top of the leaderboard 3 weeks in a row.

I have noticed the dances I prefer from her are where she can play a character.
I think she will do well with this theming. If your asking can she physically do a good charleston , I don't see any reason why not.

If your asking will her charleston have the impact of Georgia's I really don't know,

Correct music, theming , dress, steps, lifts and performance may make it a great dance or equally it may not be her dance at all, so she will remain a very good dancer lost in the midst of the of very good dancers this year.

Personally for this dance I would style her as cartoon Betty boop. There will never be a better opportunity.

Change the hair colour and she really would look great like this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=be..._KqMaoSrQlM%3A

I think she'll get big trousers, like Rachel Riley's Quickstep, or sparkly hotpants like Sophie! Can't do these kind of airsteps safely in a big skirt!

I think we'll all have Charleston fatigue. It'll be in the 30s but that will be all.
