Nexus 5X - user opinions

Hi guys,

Current ower of the Nexus 5, contract is near its close and I am looking at what to go for next.

The 5X is on my shortlist, but I do not know of anyone with the handset to ask for their opinions.

So, any takers? Does the 5X stay true to the previous version being a real big hit at a relatively affordable price level?

Love to hear thoughts and opinions.

I like it, i admit, its not the fastest of phone.

But for the price, its a great update. I love the fingerprint sensor.

My lad has a 6P and loves it. I have the 6 and the 6p is noticeably quicker and the camera very much better. Size wise its bigger than your 5 but not quite as big as a 6. The 6P seems to get better reviews than the 5X but the size may put you off.

Could I ask if you got it in Ice Blue?

Just wondering whether or not its prone to marks or looking discoloured?

I like the idea of the midpoint in size, my small hands will have to adapt though.

I was impressed with the Nexus 5 camera so the 5X isn't likely to disappoint me.

Carphone Warehouse do the 5X for £300 off contract and this is very tempting. I reckon I could achieve in the region of £80 - £100 on eBay for my 5, which lightens the blow even more.

I like the look of the 5p, though curiously it's done away with the wireless charging and optical image stabilisation that the Nexus 5 had. Otherwise looks a very solid device, should be fast enough, camera looks good apart from the above omission and a decent size - i.e. not an oversized phablet!

No, i went for black, i always buy a bumper case and a wallet case so the back of the phones always hidden.

Good idea, I do like the look of the blue but like with any phone, the pressure to protect them kind of takes away from their design.

I've had my N5x for a couple of weeks now, having passed on my N5 to my husband. It's the 32gb Ice blue model and I got it sim-free from CPW. It's a lovely colour but I always have a wallet style case so the back is hidden from view. I like the fingerprint sensor - I got used to it really quickly and it takes no time to unlock. I also prefer the usb c for charging as it's easier to plug in and it charges really quickly. I never bothered with the wireless charging capability on the N5 anyway. This is a totally non-techie opinion from an mature female but there are plenty of tech reviews around anyway!
