Not receiving text message delivery reports when using emoji icons
I have been having a problem with receiving delivery reports. I have only experienced this problem when I send a text message that contains an emoji icon. These are text messages that are not being converted and sent as multimedia messages.
When I send text messages without using any emoji icons, I get a delivery report. Has any experienced this using o2 or on an MVNO that uses the o2 network? Thanks in advance. |

I am not sure why this is happening. Anymore advice would be good. Thanks in advance. |

I understood that if you send an emoji it automatically goes as an MMS. In my case with 02 I am charged as MMS messages are not included in my package.

When you include an emoji the message is encoded differently (using UTF-16). I assume that o2's smsc can't handle this which is why delivery reports aren't working. I wouldn't get your hopes up of it being fixed.
