Poor nice guy Sam
Felt really sorry for the guy. And nasty Scott didn't even bother to hug or shake his hand.
What an arse. Hope he's fired next week. |

That was rude, a bit of courtesy wouldn't have done any damage

Nice guy but ultimately not very good. He failed during his PM task despite being only really good at literary stuff... so if he can't win that he can't win anything. Too much of a gentleman, like the guy who went in week 1, whatever he was called. Sadly you have to be a complete c-unit in business. Look at Mark from last year. Unscrupulous alpha male but that's how you need to be to impress little Al.

I would disagree with the above post - it's more to do with the kind of men recruited for the show - far too many bullish alpha males, and so although I do think LS does have a tiny soft spot for the 'Rags to riches' hard-salesman alpha male types, but this year the only 2 who weren't really like that were Sam and Dan who weren't very good.

That said, Sam is buff, creative and a fluent and entertaining speaker. I can easily imagine him doing well in a creative role or in the media. |

I'm sure that Attitude or Gay Times magazines will be asking him if he is up for posing for a few half-naked pics (or their Naked Issues)

Nah, he was a bit useless to be honest. Not sure why he was included in the process for anything other than 'early sacked fodder' to fill the gaps.
Seems a bit annoying to work with as he faffs about, fumbles on numbers and simple tasks, and just doesn't really do much. Other candidates are totally all over each and every task, giving it everything they've got. Saw no evidence of him doing much at all and also didn't see any evidence of him being a 'nice guy' either, to be honest. |

Presuming that because someone is posh and bumbling they're "nice" is how we ended up with Boris Johnson no thx.

Poor nice guy Sam???
That's what he'd like the TV audience to think I guess. But I haven't fallen for this. According to a DS article: After calling Scott's boardroom tact "deplorable", he went on to explain that Scott had initially thought, as Sam is a trained professional actor as well as a tutor, he was only taking part to further his TV career. "I think Scott got the wrong end of the stick in the house and believed that I was only on the show to further an acting career or TV career and that I didn't have a business plan which obviously I do - production are sensible and aren't going to let anyone without a business plan onto the show. http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/the-app...-that-outcome/ I think it is obvious that Sam treated this as a personality contest rather than a competition. He wanted to come off as being "nice" to endear himself to the audience. I've met his type before. The problem with people like this is they expect everyone to warm up to their "nice" personality, and if for some reason they don't (like Selina), these "nice" people can then turn quite the opposite of what they profess to be, hence Sam's dismissive attitude and cattiness towards Selina. Apologies, but I can't stand characters who think, "but I am so nice, why don't you like me?" I think it wouldn't be unfair to assume that he entered the process to further his career as an actor. That's fine, but I wish people would just be honest about it. How is a private tutoring business anything novel or new that LS would want to invest in? It doesn't take a lot of business acumen to start one up. If you have a Cambridge degree, like Sam, and a network of university friends who are in between jobs (waiting for a break in an acting career), you're probably already in a social environment where it is likely you'd know posh mothers trying to hothouse their kids and therefore desperately wanting to engage brainy Oxbridge characters to tutor them. I am being quite negative. Maybe it's me projecting my own experience of people who remind me of Sam. But I am sure I am not the only one who can see through his Apprentice persona. |

I just found him whiney and pointless.
I also don't see how what Scott said in the boardroom was any worse that what other contestants say to each other. The worst was the way Vana and Charlene spoke to Elle earlier in the series. |

Nice guy Sam? LOL. He just rolls his eyes in the boardroom like a Mean Girl. No wonder he gets on so well with Vana.
Seemed like a really nice guy to start off with but totally out of his depth. Surprised he wasn't given the boot along with the blonde girl with the short hair. In fact, they should have booted all 3 out including Brett. |
