To be fair it didn't seem like Monica was that bothered either. She clearly didn't like singing covers.

My guess is that she wasn't really happy with any aspect of the competition in general (especially stuff like faking a mentor/mentee relationship with Rita, filming silly skits for Xtra factor etc) and it affected her relationship with the other contestants (not saying they came to dislike her, more like they were indifferent to her).

This is so spot on.

I couldn't agree more with the above. Also did anyone else notice how everything that could possibly go wrong on the show happened to Monica ? I mean how many times did they apologise for their mistakes? starting from her 1st audition to her very last, no wonder she didn't look too upset, they beat her black and blue. It was also very obvious Rita didn't take to her much and didn't give her much of her time either, Simon even pulled Rita up on it, Monica didn't have a mentor no wonder she wasn't bothered about leaving and God only know what else they put the poor girl through.

I imagine she was embarrassed by that dress. That was mean to do that to the poor girl, that's on youtube and tv now for the world to see forever.

Nobody forced her to come back. If it wasn't for the change of song she would've been safe for another week.

I don't get the point of this thread, hardly anyone ever seems bothered about their fellow acts leaving.
I know they made a bit of fuzz over Lauren missing her besties but that's not representative of how things are usually shown imo.
In the end of the day they're all competing with each other.

Monica clearly wasn;t very popular especially with the other girls.

Look at Chloe paiges twitter she was actively supporting Anton & Max when the bottom 3 was announced last week

She's better off out of there imo......double standards going on for some. ..and just because Monica express her concerns over a song or costume they turn against her!!!! Performing at GAY tonight. ...so wish I was able to see her! !

She was too good for the show imo. She knows her own mind and knows exactly who she is as a person and an artist and thats not the XF way.

I said - half joking - that they'd have her in a ball gown singing a power ballad and look what happened! I hope that she uses the exposure to get her music out there as I think she's got the talent to succeed

Anyone who goes on X Factor with an independent mind and know exactly what they want from the show...might as well not bother auditioning.

It's become the quick way to become famous but ultimately the quick way to fall out of favour with the public.

If you're a string puppet and quite happy to be in the music industry as a Pinocchio (pre-becoming a real boy that is ) then Simon will love you because he knows no matter what bafflingly terrible idea he comes up with for an album, the Pinocchio's of the music industry will nod and say "yes" without hesitation.

As I've said many times, the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Lana Del Rey would be ridiculed as X Factor contestants. Yet there they are as global artists with successful albums and singles.

Something Monica Michael will never achieve.

Yes, Yes and a thousand times yes!!!

What I find funny is the commentators who say things like "They wouldn't have been successful post show anyway. They're too much like Ed Sheeran or Adele to be popular. They need to learn to own the stage like Cheryl."

Monica is already in the studio producing original songs, she ain't recording covers and posting them on you tube. She isn't waiting for others to write songs for her doesn't that say anything?
