A particular series of episode of Doctor Who.

Reading these forums from time to time makes me realise how long it's been since DW came back. It's been a while now since I've seen many of the RTD era episodes despite having every episode up to the 50th anniversary edition.

I probably won't see them again until a big rewatch unable to believe that "Rose" will be like a nostalgia trip.

I haven't done an all-series marathon since the Series 7A DVD...so that was back in 2012. I'll probably hold off another until Capaldi's time is up at least, partly because I just don't have the time, and partly because I do a good enough job at remembering them all in order anyway

I watch A Christmas Carol every December though...on my birthday (23rd) or Christmas Eve if I have the chance. I also happened to catch The Unquiet Dead rather recently, and I rewatched all of Series 8 back in spring when I got the DVD.

Its so easy to watch sporadic episodes here and there that its never too long since I have seen a season or at least some episodes from it. A complete rewatch is quite something else. Complete rewatch of a season? the longest it has been would be 2009 for S2- I haven't watched that in its entirety since then. But oddly enough and its purely because I really dont like it the season I have rewatched the least is S7. Apart from Asylum of the Daleks, The Snowmen and The Name of the Doctor (all of which I watch rather often) I dont think i've rewatched any of the rest of that season in full since the year it was broadcast apart from the odd few minutes of a BBC3 repeat here and there.

Generally though I know the episodes so well that it doesnt matter what order I watch them in so I always zip around from season to season based on mood and what I fancy seeing. Might be interesting to make myself sit down and actually watch in order again though one day.

Im addicted to the RTD era and story arcs, their faces when they realise it was The Daleks that were in charge of The Bad Wolf Corporation is priceless.

Series 7B is the one I've seen the least - apart from a few sporadic rewatches, I've not actually seen Cold War more than twice (and the second time I was distracted), nor Hide, Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS or Nightmare in Silver - all four episodes were only rewatched to help me decide if I liked them any better. I didn't. Maybe now that I actually like Clara a lot more than I did back then I might get something new out of them? But Series 7 as a whole is incredibly weak - Asylum of the Daleks is the only one I really enjoy rewatching, I only care for about the last five minutes of The Angels Take Manhattan, and I quite like A Town Called Mercy and The Crimson Horror but not as episodes I'd stick on over and over.

Without a doubt the episode I've seen the most happens to be my favourite ever episode, which is The Parting of the Ways. I don't know how many times that's been watched!

Yeah I'm much the same on S7 especially the latter half. Much as I love Clara now and really loved her splinter versions in Asylum and the Snowmen I really didnt think much of her characterization in 7.2 and it wasnt until Day of the Doctor that I fell in love with her as a character. I dont hold out much hope but purely because I have watched them the least I do have a curiosity to re-watch them all in the hope I discover something more so will probably do so after S9. In fact if things turn out as expected a Clara-era watch would be quite fitting.

Im not sure which single episode I have seen the most. The mind boggles. But S3 would probably be the most watched season. There was a time when the discs from that boxset were on constant rotation to an almost ridiculous degree,

I watched Rose again a while back which was the first re-watch in years.

It was superb.

There are actually loads of episodes that I am deliberately holding off watching again so that it can feel that bit fresher. The main one being Midnight. I watched that quite a few times around the time it was originally shown but am holding off watching it again to try and emphasize the effect. Does that make me weird? Well maybe, but I don't care.

For the first time I haven't been rewatching the episodes from this season, since the opening two-parter. But I don't want to sidetrack this to a thread about the current series.

My big project was back when I first started watching again regularly in Season 5. My enthusiasm took me through all of 'new Who' until that point (I hadn't followed it regularly so hadn't seen much of it) and then through the entire classic series.

I don't think I would rewatch a season in sequence now. I prefer to cherry pick but most episodes I've seen at least twice. I did have a Moffat-a-thon a while back, watching through all of his episodes in sequence. This was interesting because really most of the episodes not written by him are inconsequential in terms of the ongoing storylines and so it's like watching one abnormally good series in a way. It does help clarify the storylines in better detail than I remembered them too.

I find the RTD era episodes to be the ones that least interest me to rewatch now. I don't mean that to sound scornful of them. I just don't get much from repeated viewings of them because the show still has the same format now and so it's very familiar. With Classic Who there's always more to discover or rediscover, they have more of a curate feel about them. I find them more interesting to see again and more varied. They pique my creative interest.

I'm exactly the same, anniversary episode (which I admittedly didn't think much of) was when she just suddenly clicked... she just instantaneously worked for me and I've loved her ever since. Me thinks it has to be that pesky Impossible Girl arc (which coincidentally hasn't been referenced since and she's all the better for it!) which tainted her role in Series 7...again when she was just Oswin or Victorian Clara I loved her then as well!


Not at all...I think you can over-saturate yourself with particular episodes to the point their finer details get lost on someone who's seen them too many times. Looking back is a wonderful thing... I find it weird how an episode from Series 9 is still the same show as Series 1 and they're so different from each other. It's great looking back on the show and how it changes, but do it too often and you lose sense of that change as you're just dipping in and out.

I love rewatching Series 1 to The Christmas Invasion Watching The Ninth Doctor start out as a traumitised Doctor from The Time War to when hes eating Christmas Dinner with Jackie, Rose and Mickey and hes a different person because of Rose.

I also LOVE watching Series 5 I most recently watched Vampires in Venice and the references to Them Vampire things running from the Silence and The Cracks, it makes me feel all giddy, I also love The Eleventh Hour where Amy is like "Are you from another Planet?" and The Doctor is like "Yeah, so how bout it, Planets, wanna check some out?".

And I love watching the 2009 Specials people might hate Planet of the Dead but it was just a fun adventure to watch and watch again, and The Waters of Mars Urgh that was epic and The Water Zombies and the whole Timelord Victorious Power trip.

I also rewatch some of The Sarah Jane Adventures episode ahhhh memories!

Series 4 is particularly good! It managed to be great fun, whilst the stories were as diverse as anything Doctor Who was offering up at the same time.

The only thing I'd maybe have changed is that Ruby White actually turned out to be human! The whole alien in disguise thing felt very over-familiar, and I think making her human would have been more powerful a storyline without actually having to change very much at all. As a sort-of finale to SJA (with the Series 5 stories being 'extra' as far as I'm concerned) it was a great last story.

I LOVED Series 4 and all of them basically, I'm so sad a show with so much potential had to cancel because of Sarah Janes unfortunate death.
