Maybe wait until Black Friday (this Friday). There might be some good deals on that model.

£299 at John Lewis and from Samsung direct for the Black Friday weekend.

I waited for Black Friday as suggested and bought it from PC world @ £299 for the 9.7 model whilst the 8 inch model was/is £219 and a friend of a friend works there and got us a further (staff) discount of 10% so it finished up costing £260 ish

That's a good deal. I did see after I posted that PC world had reduced the price too.

The screen resolution alone says yes.

The processor will be a lot better too so will be faster and smoother.

Not just the increased resolution but the S2 has a super amoled display.
