The most original piece of music of the 20th century is probably JOhn Cage's 4'33, but i found it didn't bear repeated listens

You should try listening to some other performances. They're all different.

I just watched that video then at the top right of the recommended videos was Tony Braxton's 'Unbreak My Heart' and they are almost identical right down to the Spanish guitar.

Thank you for correcting me, i wasn't are of that, shows how much i know eh?

Do you think the M*A*S*H theme sounds like the Adele song though?

Although I have heard Demi Lovato do 'Hello' and it wasn't bad at all. Adele may well be an influence on others and I like her latest songs. I listen to a lot of Van Morrison and he is always doing the nostalgia thing.

The Elizaveta song is great. I rather like Janelle Monae though by way of contrast.”

Adele had Janelle open for her during the 19 tour. I was there for that at Hollywood Bowl. She was into a UFO- futuristic type theme at the time. Lots of foil and whatnot. Lol. But Ive always remembered her performance.

I can see why Adele's song reminds people of the M*A*S*H song, but I don't think there's anything there to excite a copyright lawyer.

Frankly, I'm more concerned that the Adele video was filmed on a mirror planet.

Yes, and even that got copied. Mike Batt(of wombles fame, who also did a silent track) paid an undisclosed sum to settle a plagiarism case. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/2276621.stm

That's rather an astonishing case, given that Batt's "composition" lasted only one minute, and was credited to Batt/Cage merely as a joke. From that article, it looks as though Cage's publishers were initially hoping for a lot more than the "six-figure" out-of-court donation to the Cage Trust.

But I did like this bit:

"In July Batt attempted to prove his silent track differed from Cage's by staging a performance of the piece. Peters Edition responded by hiring a clarinettist, to perform Cage's silent composition."

Janis Ian song.

I hear My All in there too. It's very 'French' to me.

It's 'Yesterday, when I was Young' by Charles Aznavour, I just played them both and it is very similar - even the sentiments

When I first heard it I thought of "My All"
