She really doesn't look good in the pro dances anymore and her choreography is limited. Time to go. Her and James will be dishing the dirt though .. they've only been dribbling it out so far.

They're so full of complaints. They don't seem to realize that nobody would have heard of them, or care less, if not for Strictly.
Others (practically everybody else) have left with more good grace.

Oh what a shame. I've always liked Ola. Never mind, the show's always done well out of her, I'm sure she and James have a bright future sorted out. Good luck, Ola.

Correct!

She has said she won't be back next year. No problem with that in itself.

Saying what she is saying part way through the Series - maybe she will justify that after the Series is over - but it does seem disloyal after the producer took a risk to offer her a contract for this Series while she still hadn't recovered.

Most of what she says about the manipulation of the show rings true to me.

Exactly. I've really liked Ola in the past, but her choreography has been tired and dated for while now, it's time for her to go.

It is always possible that she had picked up hints that they would want to bring in new professionals next year which could mean her contract not being renewed. If that was the case then better to announce that it is her last series now than not be signed up next year with tabloids claiming she has been 'sacked'.

Well it is her choice!

Its the smart thing to do - if you expect you won't get a contract offer next year.

She didn't say she was quitting - other people made that stuff up.

There's a J & O tour in the pipeline ... and the old perennial...b*** story......well, she is 33

When you think of some of the female pro dancers who have either left or not had their contracts renewed, the loss of La Jordan seems insignificant:

Erin
Camilla
Lilia
Karen
Flavia

Somehow i doubt that she will be much missed

There's been a Jordans tour 'in the pipeline' for years now. It never seems to get beyond the stages of James publicly talking it up.

I don't think that she has used the word "quit" herself........ All she has done is said that this will be her last series, and OK, yes it's almost certain that she wouldn't have been signed up again next year, but all she is doing is telling us all that she hasn't been sacked or not given a new contract when the announcement is made next year.

Yes is jumping before she's pushed - but she has put the kibosh on any negative speculation about why she wasn't signed again - she's made it clear that she isn't looking to have her contract renewed.

I for one will miss her. She has done an amazing job most years on strictly, getting duffers a lot further than anyone thought they could..... Including one to a glitterball against all expectations, and despite the judges favouritism to other competitors. And let's not forget that she is one of the increasingly rare specimens of trained female ballroom dancers left in the show.

For what it's worth, I thing a few of the old guard won't be back next year..... I'm sure that Brendan and Anton will be retired, and Kristina won't get signed again..... Here's hoping that they will be replaced with real ballroom dancers like Oti, Gleb and Giovanni rather than the BTF brigade.

I don't think Brendan will be retired yet, but I do wonder how much longer Anton can go in for? Either way I can't see him being dropped from the show as he's such a big part of it, even if he quits the dancing side they'll surely keep on in another role.

Hopefully they'll bring Ivetta back next year, along with giving Joanne a celeb of her own.

She has claimed the show is fixed:

And it is!

We have known that for years. Certain celebs will always be pushed as far as they can get them because they are high profile (eg Emma Bunton, Peter Andre), or because they are simply judges pets (eg Lisa Snowdon) whilst some get marked down for the smallest mistakes, others have bigger ones totally ignored.

It's difficult for the pros to comment whilst they still want to appear on the show, but all Ola is doing is confirming what we've all suspected/ known for years!

I wish her and James all the best in the future - they are both very talented dancers.

They are mediocre dancers at best, and a couple of fame obsessed attention seekers. Remember that story about Karen apparently "bullying" Ola? Who do you think leaked that to the press? It pretty much ruined Karen's reputation and she got so much hateful abuse on Twitter for it, mud sticks after all. But to people like the Jordan's they don't care that they've ruined someone else's reputation as long as theyve got the media spotlight on them.

Expect to see them on every low rent reality show going in the not too distant future.

I thought it was so low of them to leak it to the press. Karen still gets harassed online for being a 'bully', years later.

Yes, and over what? A petty squabble, which is what it actually was. Blown entirely out of proportion by James and Ola.

She hasn't quit this series.

She is contracted to appear until the final, and that was fairly evident from her appearance in the pro dance and in the Clauditorium last night and she was also shown on ITT on Friday, and in a photo on the strictly Twitter with the other female pros.

All she has done is make it clear that this is her last series with the show and she isn't looking to renew her contract next year

Nothing like stirring up some controversial gossip a matter of weeks before Celebrity Big Brother starts. Raising her potential pay packet by the suggested promise of spilling the beans ! I'll eat my hat if she is not on it come January !

Her and James used to be my favourite pros but got too big for their boots (dancing shoes)they got into other things and it showed that they are not very nice as people.I think just a few years on the show is enough and you need new dancers to keep the show fresh, just my opinion of course.

From today's Mirror (usual tabloid caveats apply):

Quote:
“Ola Jordan 'will never work for BBC again' after labelling Strictly Come Dancing a fix

Strictly Come Dancing star Ola Jordan will never work for the BBC again after labelling the show a “fix”, sources have claimed.

Executives at the broadcaster were furious when the professional dancer made the remarks despite ten years on the dancing contest which made her a major star.

And yesterday it emerged top brass had blacklisted her from future projects as a result of the comments - deciding there was no way back after her outrageous claims.

A source said: “Her comments and her conduct have been totally unacceptable. She’s going to be spoken to after this weekend and left in no doubt that she has burnt her bridges.

“Some very senior staff at the BBC have become aware of what she has said, which could damage the reputation of one of the most popular shows on television - which of course is always run in a completely fair way.

“There is no way back.”

Do the Powers that be credit the public with no common sense at all?

The producers have themselves brought the show into disrepute, by the very obvious manipulations of the judges scoring to create the leaderboard they want (Ola is 100% correct in what she says about some very dodgy marking), and the introduction of the dance off to save a production favourite against a public preferred dancer.

Come on Ola - tell us all the rest once you can - after all, you clearly won't work for the BBC again so nothing to lose!

Why are so many people being so nasty in this thread. Ola comes over as very sweet, and it's a shame that she's going. I imagine that it is a case of standing by her man, because as her dance partner, James cannot do a lot during the months she's involved in Strictly, so if they want to continue to work together and partner each other, they need to explore new possibilities. Pity he's too much of an arrogant prat to fully appreciate it.

Tabloids are notorious for putting a sensationalist spin on anything they report. Everyone speculates about the programme trying to influence voting, and Ola was possibly just responding in the same vein to a leading question.

Perhaps Anton could be the expert choreographer for ballroom routines, especially as some of the newer pros have as little experience in it as they do in Argentine Tango.
