I think you lot are underrating Janette... she probably realised Peter was terrible at the jive so got him to do as little of it as possible.

You should all be thanking her anyway, hopefully that shambles might actually get rid of him! We can but hope.

Agreed.
Just copy/pasted this from another thread.

I was looking for kicks and flicks - and didn't notice any. Was it really a jive? I'm no expert, but it didn't look like one to me.

Last weeks dance did not resemble a VW Len said it was more AS this was not a jive...yet he gets a 8 from Len go figure

Any Jive content was left with their alter ego's from the 60's in their weird VT. He MUST go after this dance

I don't think he could be better without a better teacher and a greater will to actually learn. He's known since wk 1 that all he has to do for the judges is come out and put on a performance and he'll get a minimum of 8, his QS proved that. What he doesn't know (and neither do we) is how he's doing in the public vote each week. As I cannot stand the slimy, little toad, I'm hoping his public support is very weak and tomorrow night is the last time I have to see his hideous visage on what used to be one of my favourite shows.

What did he do that led you to believe he was capable of performing a great jive?

Actually... I think not.
I was very aware during the dance he was avoiding kicks and flicks and when he tried some right in front of the cameras I saw why. You would only choreograph a 'Jive' like that if you were protecting someone from something. He has some kind of problem, whether it is short or long-term.
Anyway, with a score and performance like that, it is highly likely that he will lose in the dance-off to Jamelia.

I think Peter was the worst, followed by Helen.

He definitely deserved to be bottom of the leader board tonight as it was the worst dance of the night. It was his worst dance so far and bore no resemblance to a jive whatsoever.

I will be VERY surprised if he is not in the bottom 2 this week.

Jive is not quite Peter's thing and it could cost him his place in the competition.

It's a twice in a row now that Janette has given Peter subpar choreography. He had such floppy leg action. No retraction after his kicks whatsoever. And yes, very light jive content.

Janette needs to buck up. After last week's VW, she comes up with such a terrible jive routine. And the song was such a good song for jive too!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Janette is very supportive partner and all, but she lacks the chops to be a pro. Her choreo is not up to par and I'm not sure if she can teach proper technique. It was all too obvious to me with Jake Wood last year. His salsa was the high point and that was it. He never quite lived up to it in later weeks.

Even in training you could see Peter was very flat footed for a Jive. The Blackpool dance floor should have helped him with the springy bouncy floor but if the choreo is rubbish there is no hope.

If he is in the DO and the judges save him over someone else it will be a travesty after finishing bottom of the leaderboard.

Of his 9 dances, 6 got at least one score under 8. He's been overmarked yes, but there's no need to overegg the pudding.

Janette seems lovely but she is really a poor pro on this show. She does her celebrities a disservice in the long run; yes flashy and performance driven routines are good at the beginning of the show but when they are few celebrities left, her celebrities poor technique start to show. Jake, now Peter. I really didnt see any jive in that routine.

He should be in the dance off tonight based on his performance.

Very good and valid question OP...and I concur - DO material at best...

Having re-viewed all the dances, it's Peter who should go. Janette, Oti, Karen and their partners were "busting a gut," in that jive, his performance was only marginally better than "Dad Dancing." It amused me that at the end, reminiscent of a professional boxer at the end of a fight where he's lost every round, he stood with both arms in the air, in an attempt influence the judges and in his case, milk the applause.
Janette impresses me with her flexibility, in the "pro dance" a few weeks back, the one with the pool table, with the high kick she got her right foot above her head, whereas some like Joanne who I think is an absolute doll, only managed to get hers just above waist height.

I apologise for my lack of absolute accuracy as it pertains to Mr Andre's scores. I thought he had said himself, a couple of weeks ago, that he hadn't received less than an eight from the judges. I will check my sources in future.

One of the dullest jives i have ever seen. it was such an anti-climactic peformance all round. There were so many moments when I thought "ok theyre gearing up for some flicks" but then nothing - another spin instead.

Peter jive was not good tonight and Helen Charleston lacked the character and fun elements, it was lacklustre and not very creative

He should definitely be the one to go... Although as he's clearly one of the judges favourites, unless he came up against Georgia I think they would vote to save him.

It reminded me of one of those "dances" that you would see from New Edition on Seaside Special

Yes, that was an odd score from the one judge who always seems to focus on shap kicks & flicks
