I thought the dress tried to copy the office wear from the Nine to Five film. Kellie isn't Jane Fonda however and she certainly isn't Dolly Parton!

Maybe Kellie doesn't bother going to wardrobe in the week?

I thought she was in character as Linda.

Linda carter wouldn't clean the loos in any of the frumpy things wardrobe come up with . Her gear on eastenders is tight dresses and bright legging and while they may not be to my taste at all they are HEAPS better than her strictly rubbish dresses .
Comes to something when your training gear looks better than your dance 'dress' .

Vicky Gill the wardrobe woman said on ITT one week that they often buy 'High Street tops' and add skirts for the women - this didn't even look like a High Street top, though, it looked like something they hadn't had time to finish off. The skirt was awful as well.

There seems to be a very big gap between some people getting Ginger Rogers style ballroom dresses and Kellie getting a costume that doesn't even fit.

Horrible horrible baggy monstrosity of a dress . Swamped her totally and looked like it was pinned at the bust with a safety pin to prevent the whole horrible thing falling off her shoulders entirely . There aren't enough frowns to express my utter disgust . Had she done that precise dance in a pretty dress it would 100% have looked better .

That's what I thought.

I thought for the whole dance someone was going to rip it off her and she'd have like her jive slinky dress underneath 😕

I thought that even her dress in the group dance didn't look that great in comparison of others . It looked frumpy. She's a beautiful woman and I really don't understand why they can't dress her in beautiful dresses.
Katie, Anita and Georgia's dresses always look fabulous for the most part. .especially Katie

Katie is very elegant and no matter what she wears she will look good, as will Anita. Georgia is young and very elegant despite her height. Kellie has a nice face but she is so muscular and tomboyish that it must be difficult to dress her. Only IMO some people might not agree with me but that's OK.

I so agree. Think I heard one of the pros say a few weeks ago they have a say in their female celebs outfit to match the dance etc, maybe Kevin should have a word!
Hasn't Kevin said that he prefers conceptual routines, with storytelling and characterisation, to routines where they just go out and dance? If that's the case, then wardrobe are probably trying to give Kevin and Kellie costumes that fit Kevin's 'concept' for each dance - quite possibly with his encouragement - rather than simply giving Kellie an elegant ballroom dress.

When we see the gorgeous dresses the other ladies get, it does seem a shame for Kellie. I know it's shallow of me to say this, but over the years, the female celebs have often talked about how amazing they feel in the fabulous dresses, and Kellie is missing out on something that's an intrinsic part of Strictly for the ladies.

So disappointed for her, I was really hoping for something long, beautiful and elegant for her this week. Like you say it looked thrown together and frumpy.
I agree, I said the same thing to my husband. Why does she always get such awful clothes to wear, tonight she should have had a beautiful ballroom dress and what did she get, a dress made for someone twice her size, and it looked as though it was pinned over her chest to try to make it fit. It's getting beyond a joke, someone in the wardrobe department obviously doesn't like Kellie.

That blue sack they gave her to wear was the pits - but I cannot agree that she should have had a long, beautiful elegant ballgown for this routine - I mean, how many "secretaries" do you see in that get-up around the "office" Monday through Friday "Nine to Five"?

It obviously had to be in keeping with the theme so they should have done a pretty take on the "sexy sec" look...

So another dance ruined by the theme.

Is she 38 o I would have guessed she was late 40's or older! I
Only 38? I thought she was older, too!
Come on, Beeb, give her something a bit classy, and younger looking, not a dress that looked as if it had been made with the leftovers. Her jive outfit was obviously made from the bits of material left over, too!

But when the others do conceptual routines there is still an element of elegance. A nice dress doesn't preclude telling a story. Why did Kellie have to play the secretary who buys her clothes off Damart?

And couldn't we have a conceptual routine where Kellie gets to go to the ball. At the moment she seems to be permanently cast as Cinderella.

I felt really sorry for Kellie when I saw that dowdy, ill-fitting dress. I got that it was referencing a film set in a time that fashion really ought to forget, but if they really had to labour the 'office'theme, could they not have made Kellie a glamorous secretary from the 1950s, Mad Men style? Anything would have been an improvement.

What a horrible frock. The washed out blue, cheap, tacky material, frumpy length and thrown-together look really left me cold. I really don't understand why her outfits are so bad, as cheap as second hand Primark, as glamorous as Hilda Ogden on a bad day. If you compare her dress to Georgia's gorgeous, dreamy number, you'll see Kelly is definitely the wardrobe department's Cinderella.

Kelli looked more like Cora in Eastenders than a young 38 yr old woman!
She has a good figure but facially she looks much older than 38. She looks late 40s to me.

I agree with the OP. It looked like someone had clumsily sewn in a stitch to keep the top gaping open, as you sometimes do with wrapover tops.

Poor Kellie She's definitely getting a raw deal.
I agree except it looked like a safety pin. So glaringly obvious from the start. She probably wouldn't go out to the shops looking like that let alone dance on live t.v.

And if you read my second paragraph, I agreed that it's a shame Kellie doesn't get better costumes. The ones they give her really are dreadful. You'd think she'd put her foot down and ask for a proper ballroom dress.

When I first saw her dress I could tell they were going for the efficient secretary theme but it didn't really work. The skirt didn't fit in with the theme and was very badly made. The center back seam (just below the waist ) had a very visible ragged seam allowance - not finished off properly. I can't imagine an efficient secretary wearing such a tacky thing. I also 'got' that the dress was backless to show an inner sexiness (well I presume that was their intention??) but there are surely more imaginative ways of doing that. A serious jacket maybe thrown off to reveal a sparkly top for instance. Or a serious looking shirt dress again that could be whisked off to reveal a pretty dress underneath. If any of her outfits are due to Kevins influence he should butt out!

I thought it was in keeping with the routine, but it certainly didn't do her any favours. She seems to have drawn the short straw as far as the wardrobe department is concerned.

She is 39 and Anita is 38 but Anita get's much younger, nicer costumes.

I thought the style last night fit the song, but it could have been fitted better, a little more slinky. She looks quite frumpy in most of her dresses.
