Kellie has a boyish figure with no defined waistline. Wardrobe need to give her fuller skirts and properly fitted tops for ballroom (to giver her a waist) & straight short dresses for Latin.

Last night even the silver & black number for the group dance looked frumpy on Kellie, as it needed a more curvy proportioned person to make it look stylish.

The only time she has looked really good was for the Charleston.

I'd rather a plain dress than a crop top, as they don't do her any favours.

I really don't get it at all . It's not a great advert for whats-her-name's abilities (the itt woman from wardrobe).
Even supposing we assume the dress was meant to look retro and office wear . That doesn't excuse the frankly naff finish . The dodgy seams clearly visible and the huge wrapover top half clearly held together with a safety pin were the most obvious stinkers on a pile of poo . Obviously there were problems with the top gaping as she moved, but could they not have used a simple brooch rather than than a pin . Shame on wardrobe for that horrendous mess spoiling the look of a really perfect dance .
Give the woman a break and put her in something pretty that fits without needing emergency treatment with pins before she dances .

Yes but Anita is sexy and looks about 30. Kellie looks 50.

I have just watched SCD again and her dress was worse then I remembered for all the reasons already stated. I hadn't actually realised how flat chested she is till I saw the top pinned together.

Kevin always seems to use the 50's era for his dances so maybe that's the problem? Kev is choosing her dresses? I remember Brendan saying he often takes the sciossors to his partners dresses to make them shorter and show his partner off to her best.

Just a thought.

This one looked as if it had been thrown together last minute and didn't fit!! The top was awful, the sleeves were awful and for a ballroom dress the skirt was atrocious!!!
Just to make it clear, I thought it was awful!!!!
Come on Wardrobe lets give Kellie a better dress!”

I agree - I was looking at it and trying to find something nice about it, the colour maybe? Nope, not even that. I would have refused to wear it.

Have to disagree with this, I think the dresses, apart from Kellie's, have been tons better than previous series.

Her dress was terrible and I agree she seems to draw the sartorial short straw most weeks. On the bright side, I remember Caroline Flack being on the receiving end of a truly hideous wardrobe for a number of weeks, so maybe it's a good omen?!

I thought it was an attempt to copy the style of the 9 to 5 movie, as has been said, and I might be totally wrong but I thought the top looked not quite finished, as if something had gone wrong or had to be changed. I didn't think it was as bad as her waltz dress personally, but it was definitely the short straw of the women's costumes last night. (Though I wasn't mad about Helen's either.) Katie gets absolutely amazing dresses every week and Georgia almost always. It's very odd. I don't think it can just be Kellie's height because most of the pro dancers are tiny and get better dresses.

With Caroline it seemed to be that she had very firm views on what kind of length and neckline she would wear, so maybe Kellie has too. Though I can't believe she's going in there demanding that everything she wears be made of curtains. Her own clothes are lovely. Something is odd.

Had to revive this thread, because that dress was unspeakably bad. It was like they had run out of ways to make it bad, so came up with 'well this time it will match, it won't be bedazzled with random pieces of cr4p, but we will make it the worst fitting, least appealing dress ever made'.

I mean, it takes talent really, to keep coming up with all these hideous costumes for Kellie. I don't know what she did to upset them, but that's someone putting a lot of effort into her dances and live to a lot of people on TV. To have the top that badly fitting was unfair and quite cruel. That Kellie seems satisfied and wears them isn't the point. The dressmakers cannot possibly have been happy with that, so it's hard to believe there isn't something behind it.

Not that I want Kellie in those huge falsies they've been dishing out lately either.

I'm beginning to think it was a Kirkwood castoff

Im not a fan of Kellie but I agree that dress was truly awful. However I think it is probably her choice not to wear full length as she had a short one a couple of weeks ago when she had the waltz.

at least you can see her feet which is not the case with some.

I think wardrobe were trying to reference both the film and the song "Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen" and "Barely getting by, it's all takin' and no givin'"
giving the impression of 'make do and mend' and dressing in a hurry but they didn't need to go that far - I think we all know the gist of the song.
The pinned top was a step too far for a dance performance - if it had been a glamorous frock, that wouldn't have worked either but at least give her a dress properly fitted and finished off.

Much like Kellie's top, I think you've been very generous.

The bit where she gets picked up at the end, she's actually clutching it to her chest and it's all a bit awkward .

Many of the costumes this year have been shoddy and ill fitting. Trousers pockets poking out and making male bottoms look huge. Dresses such as the one worn by Kellie this week have been a disgrace. I wont call them old fashioned because Audrey Hepburn is now considered 'old fashioned' and you certainly wouldn't say she was a shoddy dresser. Something has gone wrong this year. They are not evocative of any era, they are just drab and ill fitting.
