I didn't really notice any technical fault but didn't find the running bits very attractive and it didn't have the finesse of some of her better dances.

These were by far my Top Two routines tonight with Anita & Gleb just shading it for me (untrained, unprofessional eye an' all dat...!)
Re Kellie, she is clearly the third least popular celeb still left in the competition - so no matter how well she danced or how well Kevin choreographed the routine, the majority here would be blind to it - especially as Kevin is aso the lest popular male pro left.
Had certain "other" couples have danced this routine, the reaction would have been every sorts of positive...just sayin'...

I agree with you on both points regarding Kellie and Anita
I don't connect with Kellie but she danced that quickstep brilliantly. It was clean and precise, I didn't see her go wrong. The choreo was pretty good too. I don't know what people are complaining about.
When people say "nothing special", I think what they really mean is they don't necessarily like her, in that they just feel indifferent towards her. Or maybe they are annoyed with her bubbly personality.

The "running bits" are exactly what you should be seeing in quickstep. You need to move across the floor in hold, with the legs doing all the work with the upper body remaining "calm". There was so much content to be admired there. While I wasn't blown away (I'm just not connecting to her), I really thought she might be top of the leaderboard.

They were not overmarked. In fact, they were undermarked and I think she should've been top of the leaderboard. Kellie was excellent! She is one of the most consistent performers on the show and I'm sick of a lot of people disliking her for her personality (which comes across as incredibly down to earth) and then using it to pretend she isn't a good dancer and that she's over marked. Say what you will about her personality, but she is an incredible dancer and has delivered week after week after week. I think Kellie could go all the way.
I'm not any fan of K&K but they have been dancing well. I think they need those judges scores though as I can understand why other people can't bring themselves to vote for Kellie since I can't do it myself either.

What? This is a ridiculous statement. Of course she's a dancer, and one of the best dancers in the show.
The judges always commend Kellie on how she has great poise and excellent footwork and leg work.
Dislike her all you want, but there's no denying the ability that she has.

Couldn't agree more. There is no need to criticise someone for the mere fact that you dislike them. And regardless of personal opinion (I think Kellie is so down to earth) there's no denying her great dancing ability.
Completely agree with bendy. It should be possible to support your favourites without bitching about the rest 
I like Kellie on Eastenders and she seems okay as a person too, so I was looking forward to seeing her on Strictly, but I don't think she is coming over that well.
And I think that one of the reasons is Kevin. He may well be a great choreographer and he certainly does get as many steps in as possible. I'm sure he's a ballroom dancing judge's dream. But I think that the dances he has choreographed for Kellie have been mostly a little boring (forget that Samba - that was pure 'Kevin showing off' mode).
Add to that it seems that this year it is Kellie's turn to be given the most unflattering outfits. Perhaps she has upset the dressers? Or perhaps she just got unlucky. But whatever the reason, her outfits and makeup make her look older (sometimes quite frumpy) and harder-faced.

IMHO Kellie and Kevin have yet to do a bad dance

However, in saying all that I thought their routine was one of the best of the night and one of the few where the props and backing dancers didn't make the actual dance unrecognisable.

She really gets a rough ride for other reasons though... saying she looks older than she is, her outfits are terrible, that she's an attention-seeker who should calm down etc... is it really such a big deal she looks like a serving wench from Upstairs Downstairs?

I agree with you. I don't know what it is that makes me dislike her because her dancing is very good. I have only ever seen her in the Ali G film before this. I don't watch Eastenders. It's a mix of looking haggard beyond her years, hardfaced, squealing like a stuck pig on acid and playing up to the cameras when she is with the other contestants and looking miserable and nonplussed when the camera isn't on her - and thinking she has God's gift as a partner. A grown man who arses about with light sabres says it all

IMO they should perhaps start taking a humble tablet every day and not throw themselves in front of the Camera at every opportunity. Imo they make themselves look desperate for attention.
I don't understand why people don't like Kellie. She seems one of the nicer celebs to me and not that confident.

I do agree that her back and shoulder line are a bit tense and stiff. I don't think it stops her from being a dancer though. It is just something she needs to improve. Difficult because it is one of the first things affected by nerves. As I say, I don't think she is as confident as people seem to think.
