1) Helen, Kellie, Jay were all over marked for me.

2) Real improvement from Jamelia tonight! I was really surprised and she'd deserve to go through to next week.

5) I want a Helen/Peter bottom two scenario.

1. Hate backing dancers - but boy does Anton know how to use them properly!

2. Whoever thought red dress against a red background and red lighting ought to be fired!

3. Jamellia impressed me, felt she was grossly undermarked and it led me for the first time to vote fo her! Never thought that woud happen!

4. Jay - underwhelmed. Was expecting to be wowed and it was just bland.

5. Found Tess bearable this evening.

1. The scoring, again.
Kellie was never a ten, it was good, nice, but not a wow.
Anita was overmarked, I'm sorry, I know everyone has been waiting for better scores, but there was so little paso in it and not done well at all really. All flashy bits. I remember Len having a go at Natalie for a beautifully danced paso as it didn't have enough of what he liked, well it had ten times the paso content compared to this. He also gave Austin an 8 I believe.

2. Peter was really quite poor, no real jive action, so flat footed, it was a strange dance really with little actual jive, but what he did was awful. I have no idea what he was doing for most of it.


3. Poor Kellie has really done something to upset wardrobe I can only imagine, they seem fixated on making her look near 60, all the while making Katie look flawless in timeless classic and well fitting dresses. She gets the short straw every time.

4. When was it the judges stopped giving real critiques? Helen made a bunch of errors, as did Katie, not really mentioned at all, still get a nine. To me the scoring has become a bit of a farce.

5. Georgia has really come into her own now and she will be very hard to stop from getting the title I think. I'm so glad she is fulfilling the potential she had from week one, I think Gio is taking her seriously now and she just keeps evolving.

Cheeky little 6, can producers take note and give the dancers music befitting to the dances every week now, it is just so much easier to dance to, choreograph and even watch when the music fits the dance style. This week was never jarring as all the other weeks have been.

1) Blown away by the level of dancing and performance in tonight's show.

2) Blown away by the drama and choreography of Anita - Gleb.

3) Blown away by Georgia and Giovanni - out of hold, in hold, lifts, transitions - amazing - since Len had a talking to Giovanni the transformation in this pairing has been like chalk and cheese. I think I want them to win.

4) Jay back on form and beginning to show some facial expression and sense of being inside the dance.

5) Something happened to Helen - looked like she hurt something. Otherwise I was impressed with her Charleston - dancing in high heels and matching / mirroring Aljaz.

5b) Kellie seems to have the wrong body shape to appear elegant in her dance but was impressed with her movement and footwork.

5c) Jamelia looked like a different dancer. She actually looked like she was a proper dancer. Previously her arms and hands have been out of control.

5d) Peter and Janette - both Peter and Janette just seemed to be missing something. Janette didn't seem to be dancing much better than Peter.

5. Jamelia and Kellie's dresses were abysmal !

1) It's Blackpool, and the judges all get rose-tinted spectacles, scoring everyone's dances higher than they should.

2) ... but some more than others. Okay, it made no difference, but no way did that pathetic apology for a jive deserve 8s, even Blackpool 8s.

3) Is Janette the worst teacher amongst the pro's? Last year Jake showed promise but made zero progress; this year Peter showed promise and is also making zero progress. But fewer people will mourn when Peter goes out... (Oh please, oh please)

4) My comment after Anita's dance was that that was an absolutely stunning introduction, but could we have the actual dance now please. Which said, it should still have been top of the leaderboard.

5) Backing dancers were more annoying than usual. I don't mind them so much in a party dance or a "show dance" (i.e. American Smooth), but found them ruining the flow of the quicksteps. Also at one point I think Giovanni was offscreen for quite a while because the camera was entirely focussed on the other half of the floor.

Bonus 6) Music choices better than usual! Seeing a Paso with appropriate music really does make you wonder why they have to inflict all the silly stuff on the poor dancers (and us).

I know where I would have liked to stick Jeremy's guitar.

Jamelia's face when that pig said she would be in the dance off was heart breaking.

Anita was over praised and over marked as was Helen.

Peter's jive was pants and I really hope he is in the dance off and goes.

The backing dancers ruined any of the dances they were in.

1. Loved, loved, loved Anita & Gleb's routine. A showstealer and made Austin & Erin's pasodoble (previously the standard bearer for a dramatic pasodoble imo) seem like a cure for insomnia in comparison. Brilliantly melodramatic. Gleb has totally won me over. Let's keep all the new pros from this year in fact.

2. Speaking of Erin - great to see her pop up on Katie & Anton's VT. She really is gorgeous and incredibly elegant. As is Katie.

3. Thought Kellie & Kevin were overmarked. It was good don't get me wrong but certainly don't think it deserved more than Jay's routine or was equal to Anita and Gleb's routine.

4. Bar Peter, I thought all the couples upped their games tonight. A brilliant show - and Blackpool justified the hype. They certainly made use of the backing dancers too.

5. Can't put my finger on why but while I'm more of a Jay fan, I can't help thinking that Georgia is the overwhelming favourite now to win Strictly. Just feels like she has all the momentum at this point and Jay can be marmite judging by this forum.
That said I'd much prefer Jay to win. Really enjoyed his routine tonight.

Bonus 1 - Claudia and Tess really have improved as a parternship. Tess is never going to be the greatest host ever but she finally seems comfortable in the role as main host and the show seems to run smoothly and it's clear that her and Claudia get on.

Bonus 2 - Anita needs to reach the final. Simply so we see what on earth Gleb would produce as a showdance. Bacofoil would probably seem a snoozefest in comparison.

1. Despite the Charleston usually being a crowd pleaser, Helen managed to make it unlikeable.
2. All the backing dancers.props and giant red curtains were very distracting. Despite the huge ornate ballroom.
3. Although her voice makes my ears bleed I am warming to Georgia.
4. Every time Tess or Claudia mention some sort of connection or romance in the performance to Aliona she screws her face up. Wonder why ?
5. Can Katie Durham speak without moving every inch of her face ?

1, Loved the performances from Jay, Anita and Georgia
2. Peter's jive was dire, if I'd switched on mid way through his dance I'd never have recognised it as a jive
3. Judges marking was all over the place - Ola must have been feeling smug
4. Didn't enjoy the opening routine as much as in previous years - for example the Abbey/Susanna/Natalie year
5. Too many props and backing dancers

My random thoughts..

I thought Jay and Aliona did really well. I think that it's very difficult for a male celeb to do really well in latin and he impressed me. I loved seeing him smile too.

Jamelia was good! I dunno what it is about Tristan- I like him a lot but it's like he's phoning it in now.

Katie and Anton did a pretty good routine too but I don't feel that she's progressing. I loved the music and Katie looked beautiful. i do like this pair though and Anton is having the time of his life. Nice to see Erin in the VT and also Mr Katie in the audience.

Peter- Oh Peter..I am not his biggest fan (!) but he's a competent dancer but this was pretty bad. I don't rate Janette as a choreographer at all TBH and after Giovannis mauling at the judges station the other week someone should have called her up on the lack of jive content in an jive. Still, what little there was he did badly.

I like Kelllie and Kevin- I think they've got great chemistry and perform well but they've yet to wow me.

Speaking of chemistry- or in their case lack thereof - Alijaz and Helen are both lovely but together they are like two shop dummies performing, they leave me cold. And she's still too stiff.

Maybe she should have been paired with Gleb. He has so much chemistry with himself and could share some with a shop dummy I'm sure. I could barely take my eyes off him! but Anita did very, very well in that Paso. I did think her carrying on with the paso face was quite funny though. And her mum looks lovely.

Giovanni is a very good and generous choreographer and Georgia surprised me with her technique and feel for the dance. They just look 'right' together which is something you can't always control.

I liked the opening dance but preferred the last one I saw five years ago which was Vegas themed.

1. Loved Katie tonight. Her smile always makes me feel good.
2. Adored Anita's Paso. Gleb is stupendously narcissistic but he looked so phenomenally hot in that matador thing tonight that I don't care less.
3. Peter's jive was ... meh ... forgotten already. I try really hard not to but I cannot stand him.
4. Still can't understand why Jamelia seems so disliked. I don't watch Loose Women but she's consistently come across as humble, dedicated and lovely. She did so well tonight.

1. Imagine what Peter's jive would have looked like at Elstree, where there's no spring in the floor. He already looked like he was wading through cement.
2. I'm so glad the moon from Over the Rainbow's still being used
3. Backing dancers mostly used okay, but they really deflated Georgia's dance for me. They work well for a showy American Smooth like Katie's, but instead they sapped out the intimacy and connection that Georgia's dance needed, so I couldn't really see it as a 9 or 10 dance.
4. Jay's salsa outfit was very flattering. Woof.
5. Helen's deranged grin throughout her Charleston was hilarious, but not in a way she'd like. I love her because she produces the most bizarre uncanny valley facial expressions (see also: her salsa, where she looked like a particularly bite-happy toddler), that somehow don't come across as soulless gurning for the back rows, and they almost read as her genuine self to me. She's a unique entity, is Helen.

Loved that Jay gave them smiles as requested. He moved well and I thought it was great. He looked very smooth in his tails in the first dance
Peter was over scored for a terrible jive. No content that resembled a jive.
Helen was poor especially towards the end of the dance. Looked much better in rehearsals.
Kellie was technically great but never wows me.
Georgie's dance was odd. She did loads with the backing dancers and although an AS too much out of hold.
