Simon should go

Simon Cowell.... oh dear

In his day he was remarkable, but just watch him now and it makes you cringe.

The biggest flaw in his whole X Factor "phenomenon" is the role of the mentors. Having listened to him year upon year saying how "this show is about finding a credible artist", I personally I lost all respect for him last year when he selected to save Stevi Ritchie over Andrea Faustini...Yes, really...

A credible artist ??? LMFAO

Now, faced with mentoring the overs (again), it begs belief that he hasn't purposefully chosen really bad song choices in order to eliminate them. He very clearly doesn't want an "over" to win - another Steve Brookstein or Sam Bailey who won't become a worldwide artists

Bupsi - some obscure Marvin Gaye track, Max - that dreadful Adele reggae, and the pantomime of Anton performing "It's all about the Bass"

And Simon, you look OLD.... Forget Louis Walsh, you just don't get it when Cheryl, Rita & Nick get up and dance - do you?

I had a conversation today with a pal along the same lines. In his day when the phenomenon that was Simon Cowell first hit the screens, he was fresh, he was the first judge in years to take on that baddie role with relish and everyone not only respected him but feared him in equal measure. X factor of course was a new sensation and the world was his oyster.

Today he is the old man on the panel… he looks jaded and old, botoxed beyond recognition, that edge is totally gone, and any credibility with the show is out the window. Of course no one stays the same over the course of a decade and in my opinion the light that was the Simon Cowell sensation of a decade ago is well and truly dimming. I am actually quite surprised he allowed himself to be in the position of the oldest person on the panel. It only accentuates his "past it" look. For that reason alone if no other he should have hung onto Louis.

He clearly can't get rid of Anton quick enough at this stage and has zippo interest in most of them. Its a pity that Gary Barlow did not stay on the panel, he was far better than Simon is now. Simon is now fine panel fodder for Britain's Got Talent, but leave the "serious" search for a credible artist to someone else.

Agree with all of this, and yet's he's still the last judge I'd replace on that panel.
